Average wages for a legal secretary/office worker - Hamburg

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I went for an interview for a secretarial position here in Hamburg and I got asked the one question that I dread the most. I was asked how much I was expecting a year in wages from the job. I was so nervous I said that I honestly did not know what to expect. They asked me what I was on yearly in my job in England. I was so pissed with myself that I wasnt prepared for the question.

So my quesitions are:

How much should I be expecting to get payed yearly for a secretarial position. (I have 6 years experience)

How much should I also expect to be payed monthly after tax etc etc (single person)

Hi, it depends on the company and what u do exactly on the job. I think you can expect anything from 1000Euro to 1500Euro net after taxes depending on ur experience, but u may be getting a little bit more if they look for an english speaking secretary. (1200 is probably most accurate). Where are u from?? How long have u been in Germany or Hamburg?? Maybe we can meet up some time and have a coffee?? Cheers, Ben
