Hi
Just wanted to know if Germany workpermit is location specific?
My Worpermit visa is issued for Munich, later my customer wants me to work from Hamburg, is it illegal to work from Hamburg since my WP visa is issued for Munich?
Thanks

AFAIK, your work permit is employer-specific. So as long as you keep working for the same employer, your location doesn't matter.

My work permit specifies "Erlischt mit Beendigung der Tätigkeit als <job title> bei <company name> in <town where company's located>." Quite specific.

I guess it is location specific as well.. but its simple, If u are leaving the job in Munich and coming to Frankfurt,
U have to go to the foreign office in FFT and do the formalities. Its not a big deal i heard, but without completing the same, you will not be eligible to receive ur salary credits in your bank a/c

When I was working in Hamburg, my visa was tied to the company and job but my company got a "connection" at the Hamburg commercial sector and they changed it to non-specific i.e. I can work in whichever company, whichever job and whichever German city Don't ask me how it was done though. My HR just told me to go to the Chamber of Commerce and they just gave me one. Oh, and it's valid for 3 years (usually I get only 1-year renewable)
