Now that I have residency in the Unterbilk area of Dusseldorf, I noticed all the cars on my street have this rectangular orange ticket/permit on their dashboard. I'm bring my UK car over in 2 weeks and was wondering where and if I can get one of these permits. All help greatly appreciated.

Ask at your local Rathaus. Sounds like a resident's parking permit.

I got one of these for my british car in August. Take the cash with you as you cant pay on a UK card at the Amt für Verkehersmanagement. I had to go to the Stadtkasse before 12 noon on a weekday to pay it, so it would be easier to have the €25,50 ready with you
