Hey All,

My Sis is coming over to Munich and her Wedding Anniversary falls in this time and I have been asked to book a Celiac (Gluten Free) restauaunt. Any suggestions?? She's also a Vegeterian..... HELP!!!

I had the same problem when my sister visited (she is not vegetarian though). We found that most "good" restaurants will cook a gluten free alternative if you contact them in advance. One we went to said she could just choose any basic fish/meat on the menu and they would prepare it in a gluten free way. Would be harder for vegetarians but I think your best bet is to choose a good resaurant and then discuss it with them in advance. You can print off an information card from the UK society in German that you can give to the restaurant but a good restaurant should know all about it anyway. This is based on my experiences in northern Germany but I shouldn't think Munich will be any different.

Hope that helps

Not so easy in Germany where cabbage salad with diced smoked ham is considered vegetarian

Try this tread.

They do pizza, pasta and dessert - have always been very happy with the food there.

I have lived in Germany and/or Czech Republic for 8 years now and never have a problem. It is so much easier here as they actually know what Gluten Free means here. They will always let you know what on the menu you can have and will always cook your meat with out flour or breading when asked, so dont be afraid to ask them. But ask to speak to the cook, do not rely on the server for this!!!

Happy GF eating!

I highly recommend Vegelangelo. If you talk to Iris in advance, I'd imagine she'll be able to arrange a fantastic dinner.
