I don't like to be an alarmist but this email really bothered me. It came into my email today from the US Army Garrison obtained from the German police:

According to German Police, an eight-year old boy was reportedly forced
into a vehicle by a male adult on Sept. 7 at 8:30 p.m. near the
Martinskirche bus stop in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt. The boy was driven to an
access road near Remseck/Aldingen where he was beaten and assaulted. The boy
was then taken back to Bad Cannstatt and released in the Zuckerfabrik
industrial area, where the boy was found by a friend of the family at 9:30
p.m. The assailant was believed to be about 25 to 40 years of age, about
5'9" tall, blonde hair, had a beard and wore short pants and a dark sweater.

In a possibly-related case, a 10-year-old boy was approached on Sept. 4
at 6 p.m. at a supermarket on Hohenzollernstrasse in Holzgerlingen by an
unknown adult male, who tried to physically abduct the boy, but was
prevented by an unknown adult witness. The male assailant drove off in a
dark sedan.
The German Police are asking anyone who may have information related to
these two incidents to call 08990-6333. Both the German and the American
Military Police encourage parents to be aware of what their children are
doing and where their children are at all times.
