Last minute xmas holidays from Munich?

anyone have any mind-boggingly brilliant inside info as regards last minute hols so i can escape as far as poss whilst handing over as few scheckles as poss for said deal..?

where would you go?
any ideas?

the only criteria i have is that destination has to be reasonably warm..and looking to avoid the sq heeds & english 'upper' class in majorca/tenerife/gran can...not sure about torquay sorry turkey either given recent events.

because of those recent events, Turkey should be cheap to go to tho...and what's the chance something like that happens again over there...?

If I wanted to go somewhere now, I'd call up Michael at toytowngermany.com/service/?id=justtravel and ask about the possibility of cheapo flights to Capetown in SA. Once you get there you'll be amazed at how cheap everything is due to exchange rates and so forth. Fantastic country with loads to offer.

Don't see how that makes too much of a difference. Of course there are lots of people living in SA who are still completely racist (I've met a few of them in my travels there) but by and large I wouldn't completely shut the place out of possibility on that basis alone.

I spent a few months in Cape Town and before I went everybody told me it was racist and dangerous. Not that I came across. You can walk round at any time of night and noone says a thing to you. And everything is cheap as chips!!!

I've never met a nice South African and that's not bloody surprising...

Every South African I've met has been extremely nice.

I'd suggest Puerto Rico: Beautiful Caribbean beaches, sun, salsa/merengue dancing, and the people there are friendly and officially bilingual.
If you want quiet, stay somewhere away from San Juan, since the far corners of the island are much more restful than the big city.

Well the remark didn't really lead me to think he was racist. I just wanted to pipe in that all the South Africans I've met seem to be good people.

If that is in binary then that equates to the number 2 , and you've met less - so you're saying that the single SouthAfrican you met was actaully nice ?? Maybe they were just having an off day and just seemed that way !

No. I was friends with two sisters back in high school who were from South Africa. Loved their whole family. And I met a couple of South Africans in Hamburg at the language school I went to. Nice folk.

I can't afford to go around prejudging people based on where they're from. I can go back to the states for crap like that.
