probably simplest to book it yourself via various low price airlines etc
JoolyBooly
you want to see all of those in 4-5 days? Sound like fun... NOT...

The best bet is probably with a tour company as otherwise you'll spend half the time travelling and finding your accommoadtion, then organising stuff to do.

It depends on your budget, if you're loaded just get someone like http://www.toytowngermany.com/service/?id=justtravel to sort you out.

If you're budget, if you're based in Munich I would go to Paris first (either fly or the overnight bus is cheap). Then fly to London using a cheap airline (Ryanair or Easyjet), or there may be offers on the Eurostar train. Then from London you can fly to Rome cheaply using Easyjet/Ryanair, and from Rome you could either take the train or try Air Berlin for cheap flights. Then use a link like www.redflaghostels.com for the accommodation (or www.hrs.de if you have money for B&B / Hotel).

dba (formerly gexx) are relatively cheap from Rome to MUC too

well give us more details!! Budget, what level of standard you expect, age (I mean if I were you I'd stay in the youth hostel in Rome, but if you're 35-year old couples that's a crap suggestion, right?!?)

Do you want to do a tour with a company or just hang out and find your own way...

We can't give you good suggestions with the info you've given... what if you're 80-year old bowls players and we're telling you to go bungee jumping?! wacko.gif

(sorry if being catty, just had a crown fitted and have raging toothache)
aurora_kaps
Thanks JB,

we are 2 newly married couples...therefore satying in a hostel...would not be a good idea...my budget for 4 people would be 1500 - 2000 euros...for the complete trip for a week...more suggestions JB...contacts of travel agency arranging tours to 1-3 cities...
more of you JB... wink.gif

thats going to be pretty tight IMO - you need at least 4 flights/train journeys each and that will probably cost at least 1200 (if you are lucky). Add 6 nights somewhere for two rooms and I'm wondering if you aren't better off concentrating on just one place
Red
I agree with boomtown_rat... sounds tight to me.
You might want to consider getting sleeping cars on the train and avoiding hotel fees while you travel.
aurora_kaps
BUDGET NO PROBLEM...just want to be out for a week...and move around atleast 2 cities...rome-paris...or...london-paris...more suggestions... cool.gif
Showem
Rent a car. Between 4 of you it won't be bad. Pick one area and see it well, don't try and see a bit of everything unless you want to see more of the road (or the train or the airport) than anything else.

Renting a car will allow you flexibility in planning and where to go. I would personally head for Switzerland and northern Italy. See Jungfrau and Eiger, go down to Lake Maggiore, pass through Milan, spend a day or two in Tuscany, see Florence.
aurora_kaps
GOOD SUGGESTION...rent a car...
i have been to switzerland...have seen all of it...therefore want to go for some other palces...which would be 3 nice cities that can be covered in 5-6 days, and would not be that tiring...
i really appreciate your effort guys...more of them please... wink.gif
Keydeck
Take the U-Bahn to Giselastr station. Emerge and go to Gunther Murphy's pub. There you will meet people from all over Europe and indeed the world. Engage in conversation with these people over a number of chilled beverages. Most people love talking about themselves so ask them all about the places that they come from. Do this over a 72 to 96 hour period with breaks taken for sleeping and processing the received data. By the end of it you'll have loads of knowledge and many wonderful stories about lots of great countries, cities & towns and you won't have to engage in any of that nasty travelling business.

BRAVO!! BRAVO!! biggrin.gif

Why not hire a car and go East instead? Vienna, Ljlubjana, Bratislava... maybe back via Venice?
Much cheaper and the weather will be great at that time of year.
Just check the rental policy on the hire car for country restrictions.
Red
Ooh, that's a good idea, Katrina... Maybe I'll do that myself.

Ljlublana is a gorgeous city, lots of fun.
aurora_kaps
KATRINA & SHOWEM r doing a good job...hey guys jokes apart...
katrina thanks for your advice...any info about the places u have mentioned...
WHY8 come up with some info... mad.gif

Only thing I can think about is Venice and Rome together. Mind you, I've only been in Europe for 5 weeks so far, so I'm not your best hope.

Some folks like to do an Amazing Race -- collecting photos of themselves standing in front of different landmarks -- but I prefer to slow down to a moderate pace and take in a place slowly.

Good luck, and it would help if you chill there, man. cool.gif

I drove from Innsbruck to Rome and back in 10 days and had a FABULOUS time. A lot of driving, but across Tuscany's beautiful landscapes and suchlike (we avoided motorways). We saw Lake Garda, Verona, Florence, Rome and Venice, each with a scenic drive for a day and then a day or two relaxing and checking the place out.

If you did some by Motorway (we were cheap students, there are tolls) with a rental car, you'd see loads and at low cost for 4 people.

Ljubljana Tourism Website
PDF Ljubljana hotel price guide
Bled in Slovenia
Bratislava city website
Hungary Tourism - have a look at Balaton region, very beautiful, not just for old people, extremely cheap
Vienna Tourist Board
Burgendland, South of Vienna, this is a beautiful huge wine region and you'll be close to Hungary. Alternatively drive via Klagenfurt into Slovenia, that's a fantastic mountain pass route which has spectacular views.
Verona Tourist Board, if you don't fancy Venice.

For london u need visa..right? -- but u might get a good flight offer.

Car would be best option, if two of u have the license.. Other options like night trains. They are much cheaper than normal if u could find place.

My suggestion would be just buy italian train ticket costs 150 euro for 4 days of travel in 1 month and travel around italy. Even one week is not enough for italy. U can travel even south to naples..

Just PM me if u need anything.

vamsi.
JoolyBooly
like I said, I don't know these people so am giving tips to aiens as far as I'm concerned! Very difficult.

I don't ned a visa, but then I'm English wink.gif
No European wold need a visa.

I presume if Arora has Indian Nationality they'll need a visa for all these countries, no?

If so, another reason not to do the 3 cities in 3 days thang... you'll spend €30+ just on each visa, to see a place for 1 day... pointless, not to mention the hassle of getting your passport t the embassies in time etc. etc..
vamsi
@JB i know..

If aurora_kaps is indian..then he needs one..

@Katrina, i too would love to visit all these places..

But being an india I need visa to all Eastern European countries. sad.gif

should be ok within the borderless Schengen area (e.g. Paris and Rome) I guess
vamsi
@boomtown_rat

we need visa to london and all Eastern European countries. Even for Irland.
boomtown_rat
yes, none of them are in Schengen. All the 'old' EU countries except GB and Ireland are in 'Schengen' (as well as Norway and Iceland I think)
aurora_kaps
HI Guys,
yes u r right that i need a visa for england, but not for other countries...
and i was thinking about going to london, as my stay there would be of no cost...a friend in a 5 star hotel...so i could for paying for visas, if everything else there is free... smile.gif
but i really thank u guys for taking your precious time out for the suggestions...
@KATRINA:::::::::::::thanks for your advice...i would really go for the places you have mentioned...

Why don't you try expedia? You can book a trip to various cities + hotel. It's not expensive and you have a huge hotel list.
Otherwise just book the flights at www.lcc24.com (for all airlines, even the low-fare ones). Hotels from all categories you can book at www. hrs.com
