Wanted: Adobe Illustrator expert to learn from - Berlin

Can I look over your shoulder while you work?

Chocky
I am (very slowly) teaching myself to use Illustrator, and finding quite large parts of it frustrating. I would love the opportunity to be able to get a few tutorials from anyone who knows the ins and outs of it.
I don't really have anything to offer in return apart from some trouble-shooting knowledge of Mac OSX, so I am mostly relying on the kindness of strangers..
PM me if you can help...

Try this, Lynda.com's normally good for tutorials.
Good luck with Illustrator, tough cookie to crumble but the results are normally worth the tears.

I really don't know how much you would learn by watching over someone's shoulder. Not only would you need to have some explanation of what's going on, but it's very difficult to demonstrate the full range of illustrator without specific tasks i.e. tutorials that the trainee is going through themselves. As a long time Illustrator user, I would recommend getting your hands dirty and checking out (the very excellent as mentioned above lynda) or you can also check here: vectuts. You have no idea how lucky you are with the great resources available to you online. Don't forget to also go through the Adobe tutorials, they are usually very good. Good luck.

I am already using the Adobe tutorials, and the Lynda ones look pretty good, (I may even pay for them), I have also given myself a brief so I have a goal to achieve. I guess there aren't any experienced Illustrator users out there who have the time/patience to help..

Another thumbs up for Vectortuts+ here, I have found those tutorials which I have looked at to be quite good.

Not sure which version of Illustrator you are talking about but the Lynda series One-On-One for CS4 is excellent and you should hardly need anyone to help you grasp the basics with that. But of course, that depends on how much experience you already have with vector-based editing and illustration in general, I guess. The Lynda series are expensive but worth every penny imho.
