Hi all,
I am an Indian currently living in Cologne. My boyfriend is also an Indian but he is working in Netherlands. We would like to get married in Germany, but we don“t have enough information about the procedure. Can anyone let me know the documents needed for marriage from both sides and also where to get them in Germany?
Since I am new to this forum, excuse me if information has already been provided regarding this. Please send me links of old posts if so.
Ciao

Go to the German standesamt and find out what you need for an Indian marriage to be reccognized in Germany.
Go to India and get married there (or heck, go to Vegas!), then give the German gov the papers. and you are done.
We did it in the US and just needed an Apostille(international notary) on the wedding certificate, our passports and we were done.
It was the easiest thing I have ever done at a German Amt. (just be sure to find out exactly what you need from the country where you are getting married for the German govt to accept it)
-my 2 cents

Dear All,
I have similar query, me(indian) and my girlfriend(german) have submitted our papers to get married in Berlin office on 10th Aug 2009.
We have not heard anything from them yet, does anyone knows how long the whole process takes to get married in Berlin after submitting all the documents?
My work permit expires at the end of this month, is there any kind of visa i can apply to stay here untill i receive any reply from the authorities in regard to our marriage?
Your experiences/guidance would be highly appreciated
thank you!
