English-speaking NGO jobs around Nuremberg

Advice on what work is available

philby
Hi there,

I'll be living in Nuremberg soon to start uni. My girlfriend from overseas would like to join me there. Since she's gonna come a long way and would like to live with me instead of just visit I have been trying to find jobs for her that would suit her and would make her stay a fun and meaningful experience. I met her in Australia about a year ago and she's pretty keen to
get to know this country. The only problem is, that she's only just started to learn German and is therefore quite insecure about taking up a job that would require these skills.

She has a bachelor in psychology and is currently working with trouble-maker kids as a social worker. In the past years she has also devoted a great deal of time to developing countries all over South-East Asia, where she volunteered for aid organisations and ngo's. That is where she found her love for that whole humanitarian sector and decided to eventually contribute more in that field. Along with that she would also be interested in perma-culturing and enviro jobs in general. Doing an internship and working with kids or in integrational projects would also be possible. As you can see she'd be open to a lot of things. Since searching the internet has't been very satisfying I'm just gonna throw it out there:

Who knows about a job in any of these areas? preferably one is english-speaking or that doesn't require a lot of German yet.

Anybody who knows more about ngo's in and around nuremberg, or even Munich?

All help will be greatly appreciated!

It is extremely difficult to do but the US Department of Defense school system in Germany is a fantastic opportunity. I don't have any idea what kind of laws they have about Australians working in the school but there are quite a few Brits, Socts and Irish teachers working in them. The US Army bases also have LOTS of child care jobs available (day care, kindergarten etc.) Again I have no idea what it takes to go to work for them but it might be a possibility...
