Hi Guys
I need to find a job in Berlin, i really need Help Please.
My girlfriend and I just had a Baby on the 11th of August a little girl called Paola.
I'm just back in England today where i work and lived for the last 9 years on my life.
i cant stay here but i haven't got enough money to stay in Berlin so thought i had to come back.
i was there many times before on holidays but now i really need to move there for good, unfortunately it's hard to find any jobs if you dont speak German which is my case!!
can someone please help me to any ideas of what should i look for in terms of jobs.
Please any help is a Big help.

I sympathize with your situation, but you'll get better responses if you let people know what your qualifications are or what industry you're likely to get hired in.

Hi CM
Thanks for reply!
I haven't got study qualifications, i work as an assistant relationship manager for a Bank.
I've worked in a restaurant before and in an optician, i have been doing this job for the last 2 years at the bank.
I guess i haven't got qualifications but i have experience in the financial industry that must count for something.
Anyway i am willing to do anything to get me started and then make my way up as i did before.
The only problem is the language and finding that initial job, that's why i though maybe you guys can help!!

Thanks

i have experience in the financial industry that must count for something.
What will it count for in the economic poorhouse that is Berlin, not in German and with no relevant qualifications? And are you fully conversant with the German financial services industry, regulations, standard products etc? Plenty of Germans in finance - experienced and qualified ones - find it hard to get jobs.

Help: (1) perhaps reflect, whether with your skills and financial needs, a poor / high unemployment city whose language you can't speak is the smartest choice. (2) read the threads here from men here who managed to find 400 Eur a month jobs (ie. that's for full-time work) or 7,5 Eur p.h. Zeitarbeit.

Thanks Swimmer.
you right and yes i'm not expecting to go in to the financial industry straigh away!!
I'm happy to do anything to be with my family.
I really appreciate is if someone can help me, where should i start looking.
do you think moving there would be a good idea with no job?

thanks

Hi you might want to use the Search box at the top right corner of the screen.

You will at least be able to establish for yourself which random posters biazarrely stalk the Berlin employment threads spreading their doom and gloom.

It is very odd. I can only suppose that they are unemployed themselves.

Zeitarbeit is 6,65€/hour to start as a helper and 7,35 after 4 months but they will not take you as a helper if you don't speak German.

OP, a bit of friendly advice- don't bother thinking you'll be able to get a job working in a bank branch here at some point in the future. Not only do you need fluent German, but you also need a 3 year apprenticeship. You don't have time to get fluent and then go through an apprenticeship, so focus on something else. Try Zeitarbeit or working in food service.

If I were you, I'd think about military service in your home country (if you are still at an appropriate age for that).

Good luck...
