We have bought a small traditional farm in the Vulkan Eifels and want to do some home improvements. Most of which will be self build. Can anyone recommend builders merchants and timber merchants in the area? We can speak some German but merchants having some English would be a great help.
Also do you know of any builders that might speak some English too?

hi,its easier to use your local Baumarkt, thats the same as your b&q type suppliers in britain. All the products are on display so you dont need any german if you know what you want, they always have special offers on building materials which are generaly advertised in the local paper. For bulky material they always have a delivery service.there prices are also reasonable.Hornbach ,Hella, globus should be in your area,A freind of mine swears by the markets in theonvile in france for bargains,Be careful dont keep your head to close when using a german hammer.
