Bands playing concerts during Oktoberfest 2009

Sometimes Munich gets a few good bands on during the Oktoberfest, although I do wonder if that's for the fans' or the band's sake!

This year is no exception and one band sure to be a treat for many Wiesn travellers (especially those in a certain kind of bus) is Aussie rockets Jet.

First Saturday of the Wiesn at the Muffathalle, so plenty of time in the tents first and then dance yourself silly.
Tickets via GetGo for example. And at 23,10€ a ticket plus booking charges, not too pricey either.

Sunset Rubdown, a canadian indie band is playing teusday, the 22nd at 59 to 1. The show starts at 21:30 and costs 11.50. Spencer Krung is the lead singer, you may also know him from wolf parade, frog eyes, fifths of seven, or swan lake.

Malcolm Middleton, a indie folk musician is playing the same club, 59 to 1 on saturday, the 26th. The show starts at 21:00 and costs 13 euro. Malcolm Middleton was a part of Arab Strap.

Includes Paddy Whack on Friday Sept. 25, who are "Irish Speed Folk", and the Burning Biscuit Band on Sunday Oct. 4, and lots of others similar to what was at the [url=http://www.toytowngermany.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=128423]Greenfarm Festival this past summer. As well as a bunch of Bayrisch bands of course.

The Oktoberfest only starts tomorrow, I know. But tonight there's Dinosaur Jr playing at Muffathalle (start 8:30pm, tix 25 Euros)...
