Watching Australian rules rootball in Dresden

Anyone know of a place where the AFL grand final can be watched live (5:00am Saturday September 2009) in or close to Dresden??

The game is actually on a little later - starts at 6:30am (on 26 Sept). Unless you have (or know someone) with a subscription to Sky (and ESPN), then you might be out of luck. Not many bars will be prepared to open up that early, unless they think they're going to get a big crowd in - and I would think that the demand in Dresden wouldn't be enough to make it worthwhile. You could ask at bars that have Sky, but the best they might do is to show a replay at a more convenient time.

The other alternative is to go somewhere out of town that will show it - Belushi's in Berlin is probably the closest to you that I know was open for it last year.

Aussie Rules is a real minority sport and even in Munich (which is bursting with Aussies at the time for Oktoberfest), no bars showed it live until 2004. Before that, we'd all cram into a place at around lunch-time to watch a replay and have to pretend it was live...
