How to say "was the book returned?" in German

When enquiring about a lost library book

GSF_UK
Hello TTers,

Basically, I've lost a library book and want to say the following to the staff behind the desk.

"I've lost a book. Has it been returned?"

I can do the first bit: "Ich habe ein Buch veloren", it's the next bit.

Thanks a million in advance. And yes I know, I'm an idiot for losing a library book.

Ich habe ein Buch verloren. Ist es vielleicht hier abgegeben worden?
or: Hat jemand es hier abgegeben?
or: Ist es vielleicht an die Bücherei zurückgegeben worden?

P.S. If the library has sent you a reminder the answer is probably "no".

Thanks a lot for that.

Errm, there hasn't been a reminder... !

I don't think so. Shit happens.

Thanks a lot for that.

But, you should ask the clerk, whether the book is returned or not (by phone). Look @ amazon before so you know how much to pay to compensate the loss.
