Try looking for Ricotta Käse and Cheddar Käse.
Dunno about where you are looking but in my supermarket they use those words on the packaging.

Cheddar in German supermarkets usually refers to a strange orange substance, often sold in slices, and almost but not quite exactly unlike cheddar.
The generic name is Bauernkaese (farm cheese) and some very mature Bauernkaese are a grudgingly acceptable substitute for the Great Cheese.

I shop in Hit on Elsenheimerstr in Munich. It rocks the casbah! The cheddar I go for is the Cathedral City stuff. Tis the business.
But I know you can get them in other supermarkets too.

Not "
a dictionary", but IMHO the best online dictionary for the common man (and woman) -- even if it's not yet perfect
