Hi Everyone!

I am really interested in taking some riding lessons here in Munich. I went to the Reitschule at the Englisher Garten and was able to pick up some information as well as the name of an instructor who speaks English. I was wondering if anyone else out there has taken riding lessons while living here, possibly has recommendations etc. My german isn't perfect, which is why although I'm not adverse to taking the group riding lessons in German, having an English speaking teacher would be helpful just in case something goes over my head. I want to become proficient enough so that I could possibly compete but not in any major competitions.

Thanks!
Cece
I would be interested in joining you. I've heard Reitschule is good. There are also some schools in Starnberg or Teegersee, both 30 mins by car/sbahn. Don't know if they offer in English. Perhaps if we get a group of us maybe they'll consider. Or I could try to translate... I'm pretty fluent. I'm on vacation until early sept. Could start up then.

Depending on the cost, I might consider joining you as well. Maybe it would be cheaper in a group? Haven't ridden in awhile and I miss it.

I'd love to join too! There are some stables around where I live with my au pair family. I'm out in Forstenried... not too terribly far. I can check around out here if you'd like.

hi! great to see interest.

I would rather stay in the city. From what I learned when I stopped by the Reitschule, it's 40€ for your first initial individual class, there they are able to tell you which level you are at. Then, there is a schedule that they gave me that has the different levels taught in groups at different times each day. Those classes can be bought in bulk, so 10 courses for 20€ a piece. All together, it'd be 240€ for 11 lessons.

Kate, please check out the prices where abouts you are.

Hello!
Id love to take lessons at the English Garden Reitschule, and
was wondering if we got several people together, perhaps we could
request a bi-lingual or English lesson. Would people be interested
in that? I had planned to sign up for classes there, but my German is
lousy and I would rather have just the riding to learn, and not be worrying
about my comprehension at the same time..
thoughts?

Nice to see that so many people are also interested in riding lessons in English:) I would also like to join you in case these lessons will be arranged!

I took lessons last summer at the Reitschule and it was fantastic. I had to stop because I became pregnant at the end of last summer. Now I am ready to start again, and would also be VERY interested in a class given in english -- so add me to the list of interested people if someone is calling to arrange it!

Thanks,
Sarah

Is that the price for one hour or half an hour?

I am looking for my 7 year daughter who has already had a few lessons and wants to continue.

Would also be interested in hearing from others with children who ride for meetups/horse camps/transport sharing to stables or anyone wanting to sell kit for a tall girl (more like a 9-10 year old)

There is a place that my good lady goes to close to Dachau. Whilst she is German, the owner does provide lessons in English and the costs are 20 euro for half an hour, but you are expected to put the sadlle on and groom the horse yourself. If anyone would like details then please let me know. BE2009
