Co-ed basketball group in Berlin

Hello folks!
I'm trying to organize a Berlin basketball group for people of all levels and ages.
I used to organize a basketball group in Rome and in three years we got to have about 100 people join us. It was all levels (from complete beginners to some folks from NCAA), all ages (the youngest was 17 the oldest 57 and the rest everywhere in between) and both genders (both male and female). Also, people that played were from all over, from Fiji Islands to Denmark, from Nepal to Ghana, Equador to Madagaskar, US to Russia,... you name it. We met twice a week and played for fun for a couple of hours.
The idea is to have fun and allow everybody who wants to play to join. I really don't care who plays well and who doesn't know how to play. Basketball is an easy sport to learn and I'll gladly show the basics to anyone although in a group like that you'll see that just about everyone is willing to help.
So far there are about a dozen people (guys and girls) in the group and we'll be playing together for the first time this Thursday (30. July) at 6 pm and then this Sunday (2. August) at 4 pm in Kreuzkolln. Hopefully we'll get it going regularly twice a week (once on a weekday, once during the weekend) and then move to some gym once it gets cold.
If anyone fancies the idea of something like that happening in Berlin, please drop me a line.
Also, any tips on gyms where it's possible to play basketball are much appreciated.

Dustin,
no worries. We ended up being ten for the most part of the evening, so that was good, but definitely join us on Sunday. I'll shoot you an e-mail later on with the map etc.

Here's an update for everyone.
So far we've been going for 2 weeks, twice a week: Thursday and Sunday afternoons.
There are about 20 people in the group and between 8 and 12 show up every time we play. 4 of them are girls, the rest is guys. Both Sundays and Thursdays seem to be equally good.
Most come from TT and CS communities, plus word of mouth of course. Hardly anyone really knows each other from before. We're just a bunch of people (Germans and expats) with the common passion for basketball. Or for fun.
The level really varies from beginners to fairly good. We generally practice a bit and then split into teams and play. The atmosphere is really friendly and fun.
Women are especially encouraged to come to even up the numbers and make it easier on the ones who already play.
So far we've been really lucky with the weather. However, once the cold months come, the plan is to move into a gym. If anyone has info on gyms and possibilities to play inside, please drop me a line. Much appreciated.
That's all for now.

Hi everyone,
I am nornally a netball player but since continental europeans don't know what netball is, let alone play it, I thought I might give basketball a go instead. Whereabouts is the court in Kreuzkoln, when do you meet and how do I get there by public transport?

Laura,
you've got a PM.
Funnily enough, last Thursday we got 2 other girls who played netball but not basketball. I guess it works.
Netball seems to be a common game in Commonwealth countries. Personally I have never seen people play it.

Will you guys be playing again anytime soon? Would love to join but should probably mention it's been a while since I last played so I may be a bit on the rusty side.

We do play regularly twice a week. Sundays and Thursdays. Haven't skipped one ever since late July. Join us anytime.
And as far as "rusty" goes, some people have never even played it before, so believe me, nobody gives a damn.

We're switching to 3 days a week since some people would like to play more and some have commitments on either Thursday or Sunday. So the schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 pm, Sundays at 4.30 pm.
Hopefully we'll be able to secure a gym for the winter months.
Whoever wants to join us, feel free.
