Tram line renewal works, service disruptions - Munich

From Monday 3rd August until Monday 14th September the trams 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 25 and the night trams N17 & N19 will be completly screwed!

The replacement services are too big here to write down.

I thought we had it bad in June / Early July with the #19, but this is really gonna take the pi$$.

my journey into work isnt gonna be too bad, but getting home is gonna be shit. May as well start driving to work for 6 weeks! (HUMPH)

I suppose they are hoping for good weather, but why do this at the height of the tourist season? As if it weren't complicated enough already...

The height of the tourist season is also when the locals are away on holiday the most. Tourists generally don't use the trams.

Ditto - just saw a mention of the tram works at Gasteig tram stop tonight but hadn't realised it was going to be this extensive.

16, 17, 18 are all cancelled. Gonna have to use the You-Barn.

I think up towards Hide House and Bog House they are doing road resurfacing.
In the city centre it's major strucutral work to the platforms on top of the Stachus shopping mall they are refurbishing.

The MVG are now running extra services as 827 between Sendlinger Tor and Karlsplatz/Stachus.
Perhaps they realised that reducing central Munich's busiest route without a U or S Bahn from 26 to 8 trams an hour wan't such a good idea.........

But its only a 5 minute walk....
