Finding work in Bremen

I am a non-german person looking for work

Quangus
Hi everybody. I just found out this webpage and it is really great. I just got to Bremen the other week. So right now I am looking for work in all kinds of areas around Bremen. Last semester I was in Japan for studies and study abroad. So right now I am in Germany looking for work and experience a different culture. I have a B.A in Communications and Film Studies. I am Swedish and I speak fluent English, both in writing and spoken, and also fluent in Vietnamese, when it comes to spoken.

So I am open for all kinds of tip for jobs in Bremen and anything. If you have any suggestions. Let me know.

Hej,

I am a bit astonished that you are looking for work right there, with all your skills. Basically, your skills won't help you in that area. I have lived 40 years in the triangle between Bremen and Hannover (also Hamburg in between), and I left years ago for the USA, basically because my multilingual skills could not even earn the amount for the electricity bill!

I know that the local farmers always need help in the fields, like harvesting asparagus, lettuce, strawberries etc, but I guess that is not the kind of work you are looking for. I hope I am not rude (because I don't mean to, but in the end I am a German), but I want to tell you that you have chosen the poor corner of the country. And the current situation (some say crisis) will not help either.

Move south to Ba-Wü or Bayern, if you can! Of course, there are different people living, with different attitudes (I would have never considered moving there!), but life in the North in these times is not easy.
And did I get it right that you don't speak German? In an area with such a high unemployment rate you don't speak the language? Sorry, I don't see how you would find anything other than field work (harvesting).

Of course I hope I am wrong. Please let me know if I misunderstood your post.

Maybe you should try to find some work at the Swedish consulate in Bremen, or maybe they´ll be able to help you there. I don´t know how your chances are on the job market, because you don´t speak German...

Thank you for your concern. At the moment I am takin German classes and I actually got a couple of interviews for jobs and stuff, right now I am looking work in the logistics department because I have forklift license and stuff, but don't worry, thank you about the tips and all. But yeah, the reason I moved to Bremen is because my gf is living here and moving some where else right now is not an option .

Thanks tho.

take care.

Quamgus, where are you taking German classes and why did you choose that class over others?
