Baby Babble: Meet-up for parents and young kids - Berlin

Mr. Barnaby's Baby Babble is for English speaking mums and dads of all nationalities who would like to get together to chat over coffee in a relaxed and friendly environment whilst their kids sleep, eat, wiggle and play.

The Baby Babblers meet on Tuesdays from 11.30am until everyone is 'babbled out' at different baby cafes across Berlin. Additional meet-ups will include picnics and walks in the park, trips to indoor and outdoor playgrounds, and any other activities you'd like to suggest.

The group is geared towards parents with kids between the ages of 6 months - 2.5 years but parents with younger and older kids, as well as parents-to-be, are also warmly welcome.

Happy to hear your playgroup is still going strong. I've been meaning to come along for a while now but I live on the opposite side of town so it's a bit of a trek for my little boy and I. I'm going to be working in your area though over the next few months so I'll definitely make a point of popping by.

The Baby Babblers are looking for a venue for their meet-up next Tuesday in Mitte or Charlottenburg. Any recommendations for baby cafes or indoor/ outdoor playgrounds that suit both babies and toddlers?

The Baby Babblers have chosen a venue for their meet-up on Tuesday 4th August - Kinderbad Monbijou at Oranienburger Straße 78, Mitte. Monbijio has two pools for the kids, a large sandpit and plenty of space to lounge around on the grass. The entrance fees are 2,50 Euro for adults and 1,50 Euro for kids 2 and over. Under 2's are free.

Volkspark Friedrichshain is the location for the next Baby Babble meet-up on Tuesday 11th August. This time we'll be bringing a picnic so the big kids can have some lunch too! Our next Baby Babble meet-up just for the big kids is at 7.30pm on Thursday 13th August at an Italian restaurant called Maccheroni. Their pizza's and pasta dishes are to die for!

The restaurant is at 41 Lychener Strasse in Prenzlauerberg. The nearest subway station is Eberswalder Strasse.

I'll be booking a table next Tuesday so it would be great if you could let me know whether you'll be joining us by Monday evening.

Hello Folks,

Baby Babble has just launched a new initiative called 'Me Time'.

The idea is simple. A group of four mums or dads, preferably living in the same area with kids around the same age, meet up at an agreed time and venue each week. One week two mums or dads stay at the venue and look after the four kids whilst the other two mums or dads get their hair done, work out at the gym, go shopping or whatever else they would like to do in their precious 'me time'! The next week the 'me timers' from the previous week look after the kids. And so it goes on.... The length of time the 'me timers' are away for is up to each group to decide. An ideal length of time maybe 1.5-2 hours for the younger kids and 3 hours or so for the older ones. The initiative is open to registered Baby Babble members only.

Mr. Barnaby has set up a new meet-up for English-speaking mums-to-be called Baby Babble Bumps. The excellent Mums and Bumps group meets on Friday afternoons so BB Bumps are meeting in the evenings instead so working mums-to-be and partners if they'd like to are able to come along too. The meet-ups will take place every second Tuesday at different restaurants/ cafes across town from 7pm onwards.
