Founded in 2001 by a group of Irish ex-pats in the English Garden, the München Colmcilles is the Gaelic Football and Hurling club in Munich. The club is made up of an underage hurling team, a ladies football team and men’s football and hurling teams.

The Colmcilles have their own training grounds within TSV Gartenstadt Trudering. In 2007, the men’s footballers won the Eastern European Regional Championship after finishing second in Budapest and winning the Vienna and home Munich tournaments. In 2005, Irelands fastest growing sport, Ladies Gaelic Football, became firmly established in Munich and in 2007 the team lined out in all 7 tournaments across Europe. The hurlers used the year to regroup and are once again aiming for success in the European League in 2008.

Last year also saw underage hurling develop. Training is held every Saturday afternoon and there are up to 25 children ranging from the ages of 5 to 13 in attendance. A vital part of the club is the off pitch activities which include social nights, “Stamtisch, Strassenfests and the post tournament craic at up to 8 continental European venues over the summer.

We welcome all potential players, club members and socialites.
