Does "massive" refer to the width or length of the slide?

NOFXmike
That will be within drunken stumbling distance...and that slide looks like it'd be damn appealing when drunk. They need more slides for adults.
exquitius
imagine the speed of those kids coming off the end of the slide!!

Its just perverse though, feeding the kids with the most fatening food on the planet, battered - deep fried - hormonally pumped up chicken, which they sell in buckets just for good measure, and then career the little feckers to oblivion down a 40 foot slide!!

I just have visions of that fat child in the old version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory getting stuck in the pipe!!!
Odenwalder
And the slide is OPEN (as in not a tunnle slide, but open on the top) at what looks like the 4th floor level. Wonder how long it'll take for some rugrat to splat on the sidewalk.
sarabyrd
I bet they will put a plexiglass cover on it. As long as it's open/transparently covered I would definitely go for this!

According to the KFC website, the new KFC at the Euro Industrie Park will be the largest KFC in the world!!!

Can't wait! Awesome! I am going down that slide no matter what.
riri
It should be some crack all right, you could even make an evening out of it.
Get a feed of deep fried chicken, a few beers (If Mc Donalds has helles then so does KFC) and then plummet drunkenly down the slide.

Germans are too dry arsed to think of this so there will be no rule against using the slide when palatic drunk!
Panama
In case anyone is interested it opens on May 13th.
eurovol
At the rate they are working on it, I doubt that date in all sincerity.

What about a TT KFC outing ?
Pas
Only if we get to go on the slide.
alimess
yeahhhhhhhhhh!!

Saw lots of posters last week in the area saying it would open today. Anyone been past and know if it is actually open?
MunichMag
Drove past this morning, and there was someone sat in the window having a nice healthy breakfast of a bucket of chicket. I guess it's open.

Frankly, KFC lost a lot of its charm when they got rid of the Tower Burger (came with a has brown and a special sauce in it)...mate said he spotted one in Copenhagen a few years back, anyone know if you can get them here?
Allershausen
Like this do you mean?

I was put off KFC years ago when a couple of friends of mine worked in one in England, you don't want to hear the stories they had to tell!
blowwavedave
Boo-yeah! I'm there for sure...hopefully that list from a previous post will become reality, and I'll have one just down the road from me in Germering!
eurovol
I would be happy if they would just bring back the biscuits here. They sold them when the one at OEZ opened, but sadly no longer. Chicken and biscuits made KFC.
L8knight
Never ate KFC in the States, thought it was way too greasy. Browns Chicken is much better, and they had livers and gizzards smile.gif Maybe they're only available in the midwest, not sure. Remember Popeye's was popular on military bases over here back in the day.
eurovol
Church's or Bojangle's are much better, but you deal with what you got. I mean I would rather have a Wendy's, but that ain't what we got. Hell, I could even go for a Krystal's or a dozen right now.
Jozi
Stopped in at the new KFC on Sunday, opposite Real. Place was packed with customers even late in the afternoon. Chicken was okay (had the spicy chicken which was, of course, Germany-spicy!)... mash and gravy just not the same sad.gif
Hutcho
I went there in the week too. I have no idea how it can be the world biggest KFC - it's no bigger than your standard McDonalds. Maybe all KFC's are small, I can't really remember being in a bigger one to be honest, but none the less, it's certainly not that big.
eurovol
I think they include the parking garage, cause other than that it ain't all that big.
Hutcho
Yeh, that would be a possibility actually.

Typically German store/restaurant overcrowding... I've yet to find any fast food restaurant in or around Munich that is not crowded...
By the way, the KFC in Tal (near Marienplatz) will be opening this fall according to the KFC website (KFC.de, then look for store locator)

And the slide.
Bilko
beggars belief as to why people find the "emulsified bones" chicken of KFC more palatable than that from Wienerwald etc...
z-man99
Here are some pretty amazing photos of this new KFC in the Euroindustriepark.
Luxury, huge and nothing like a fast food place.
Although they still serve fried chicken.

It is none of the above actually - have you actually been there or just judging it by the pics?

I

In case anyone is interested I've had a really nice Zinger Tower Burger (just like in England) and yes they do the Fillet Tower Burger at the Georg Bruller Ring KFC - it was fantastic, have decided I can stay in Munich now. Yes it had the salsa, mayo, hash brown, cheese and lettuce (mmmmm).

I also like the unlimited refills on the drinks and the way they put your side orders on little plates. SAD I KNOW

Only slightly related:

QUOTE
KentuckyFriedCruelty.com was the legal name of Christopher Garnett, a youth outreach worker for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). He had changed his name to protest the explicit animal abuse to chickens by the American fast-food chain KFC, also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken.

The PETA website shows a copy of KentuckyFriedCruelty.com's drivers license bearing what was his legal name.[2] PETA member Pamela Anderson expressed her support for the name change, as did his parents, although they continued to call him Chris. KentuckyFriedCruelty.com promised his mother he would change his name back again when the PETA campaign against KFC is over,[3] which he did in July 2006,[4] though PETA's campaign against KFC and the website which shares his former namesake both continue.

As much as admire the kid's commitment, I think certain aspects of PETA suck.
kitkat64
Wha? No pictures of the slide. I got a good look at it yesterday and it's pretty big. Just waiting for a sunny day to run over there and try it out.
z-man99
To answer Jozi's question.
The photos I referred to in the link I took myself. I was just too lazy to reduce them and post 7 messages on TT, so I put them up on the photo site.
Sorry I forgot a photo of the slide, guess I'm too old for that. LOL

So yes I was inside, while there even had this overpriced 3-piece meal.
canuck
Just drove by the Euro-Industrie Park one...damn that's huge. Didn't have time to go in though..next time.
BattalionBoy
I happened to drive by there on the opening night - it was quite a chic affair, however I couldn't help thinking to myself it is just fried chicken for God's sake!! I haven't been in there yet but the place does look impressive.
Mariposa
There's a new KFC in the Tal, not open yet but looks like it will soon. Good to finally have one in the middle of downtown, if you feel like chicken junk food.
Eck Spatz
According to an ad on Radio Gong, it's supposed to be opening tomorrow (Tal 27) - but I can't find any other info on the net or on kfc.de. Anyone know anything else?
keysersoze
I haven't heard of anything but it'd be pretty cool if the thing would finally open. Tal will be Fast Food Heaven soon wink.gif
Hazza
I walked past there today. It's there and it's already open. Right between Müller and Conrad.
Mariposa
Sweet! Might just go there then before I leave for Heidelberg. Thanks for the update!
deep_schismic
I had KFC last week at the Georg-Brauchle-Ring...was excited to see Zinger Tower on the menu...my favourite burger! They phased it out in Aus for some reason..but yeah..it was the bomb. And the quality of the food is SO much better than KFC back in Melbourne..where it gets skankier by the year! I might get a job around the corner on Messerschmittstr...and I have a feeling I'll become a regular customer..oh dear...must not eat so much junk!!
Eck Spatz
Yes, dined there today. One of the team members said it opened Wednesday @ 4.30pm. Not yet crowded though...
Renia
I was on Tal at 9am this morning, though not that far down and didn´t smell anything that might have enticed me to walk further wink.gif
Eck Spatz
They only opened Wednesday. So their cooking oil is still fresh! wink.gif
SamyDavisJr
Certainly worth a quick visit .. for the homesicky like us :-D
Amric
Imagine what quarky topics you can come across when surfing the web...

I will have to stop by there sometime soon. I spent 4 years in my late teens and early twenties working at a KFC in my hometown (Vancouver), and strange enough, I never got sick of eating chicken! Would be very interesting to see, ie. taste how it is nowadays, in a "foreign" country.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, Canada would also have to be considered a foreign country when related to KFC... oh, whatever. huh.gif
Cheers! biggrin.gif
