I just feel there are more important things to read and talk about than fried Crap...Sorry I mean Chicken! And yeah i eat it and yeah "its finger licking good"!

blink.gif don't read the fracking thread then! Simple.
Moonboot
yumyum.

Tom17
That was (allegidly) from McDonalds, not KFC. ..

Here
perdido
Hmmnnnn...we have a KFC in Regensburg but I never go...I
guess I should

@ Tom17

am sure they use the chicken heads/legs/bones/red-wibbly-bits/eyes etc somewhere in the KFC food though. nothing goes to waste does it.
perhaps in the popcorn. ph34r.gif
Tom17
I dunno about that.. McDonalds 'chicken' McNuggets are obviously reprocessed shit.. but if you get pieces of chicken or crispy strips from KFC they are obviously real cuts of chicken - and pretty tasty at that. I dont understand how people think its not real when it obviously is.. Processed (blenderized) meats do not have flesh grain in them like real meat does. Do you think they build up processed meat, with flesh-grain, onto old chicken bones? that would hardly be an economical business.. it would be cheaper to grow chickens!

'pretty tasty' isn't an argument that food is 'real' in any sense...McD's fries have the 'flavour' sprayed on before they're frozen, for example.

am not talking about the flesh-on-bone pieces which were obviously originally from the chicken, but KFC talks about the 'secret ingredients' that make up the chicken batter (what a sales ploy!)...can you imagine what's in that apart from flour and seasoning???

they don't print the ingredients on food from Junk-food-outlets (un)fortunately.
Owain Glyndwr
i don't really give a shit what is in the batter. I really like KFC chicken pieces and haven't had any for many many years so i will be one of the first customers. Those that don't like KFC don't have to go and they don't have whinge about it on the thread. Just let people enjoy something they have missed and when your turn comes and you find something you miss and want to eat again, we will not whinge.
Spudgun
wasn't wingeing just discussing...sorry is this not allowed??? sad.gif
Owain Glyndwr
not directly aimed at you Spuddy, just read back thru the thread and you will see what i mean.
Spudgun
sorry mate. do see what you mean. smile.gif
Tom17
I dunno.. maybe I am assuming too much here, but I doubt they grind up chicken bits for the batter.. batter will be made like any other batter, with a nice mix of seasoning I am sure.

And if it turns out that they do put loads of other stuff in the batter? Well.. its not like I dont eat sausages anyway is it. They are full of everything too!

Coca-Cola has "secret ingredients" too.. I guess that must also be old chicken heads!! :-)

Owain.. gonna be there for the opening party with us? lol
Owain Glyndwr
Tom, shall we organise a TT KFC trip for the opening day?

*how sad can that be*

I think that Tom17's statement about "real" chicken was in response to a previous claim that it isn't real chicken but processed chicken. So Tom17 wasn't actually making any claims about the batter but rather the chicken itself.
Tom17
@owain - yeah that would be *pretty* sad...

Anyone else coming? lol

I know that...as it was me that brought up the subject of the batter... smile.gif
interplanetjanet
Ok, now I'm confused. What does the batter have to do with the chicken itself being real chicken?
Tom17
I think I did cross wires there.. spudgun said "somewhere" meaning, I guess, other parts of the meal rather than the chicken itself. He meant the yumtastic batter...
I still doubt that has old chicken bits in it though.. If it does then bloody hell! Old chicken bits are yummy!
Spudgun
anyways...just wanted to wish you all a lovely time at the new KFC. ..I'm a vegetarian so won't be going...mind you they do corn on the cob don't they???
Owain Glyndwr
they probably boil down all the useless bits of the bird into a sticky goo which they they add flour and spices to before dunking the chicken bits into it.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

yes but seriously you wouldn't eat it if you knew what it was really made from wink.gif
Spudgun
don't be cheeky OG I was trying to be nice... mad.gif
Tom17
@ corn on the cob...

They get old chicken eyeballs, boil them down so they shrink and go yellow, then glue them onto old corn on the cobs that have had the corn eaten off of them... Much cheaper than getting real corn on the cob!
Spudgun
laugh.gif heehee.
you guys!

On a related note, McDo's in the UK are now giving McNuggets away for free - they must have been hit seriously damned hard by the Jamie Oliver effect.

Oh, and the "special recipe" KFC batter is mostly made "special" by the addition of MSG. I think we should call MSG "Vee Tsin Gourmet Powder" like the chinese do. Sounds much better.
Tom17
mmmm MSG.. I might have known...

"KFC - Once you pop, you can't stop!"

I remember KFC in Cork back when I was young and innocent. They had a "Breast in a Bun" which was great fun to order.
SleeplessInMunich
Okay, its June now... any updates on an opening date?
Katrina
KFC website says "voraussichtliche Eröffnung Juni/Juli 2005".
Oh. My.
The Ingolstadt drive-in is open until 2am on Fri and Sat.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They don't do the BBQ Beans in Germany - it is mash & gravy or coleslaw. BAH
Tom17
My taste buds are watering already

mmmmmm
SleeplessInMunich
Gravy and coleslaw are good. I can live without the beans.
ryhntyntyn
It's living with them that can be a problem.

This is my first post on this Forum. I have been watching for a whyle and Ironically/stereotypically.. I am about to post in THIS particular topic. It's odd to see that KFC is only opening now in parts of Germany/Europe. I currently reside in Canada, and here.. it's "people like" me, (Black) who DOMINATE their on Tuesday nights.. As stereotypical as it might sound.. as bad/racist as you can imagine it, it's in our genetics. Personally, not a big fan.

I wonder if the Germans will Acquire that deep fried chiken(or Chi-kan) like some call it.

Enjoy, dont eat too much.. or else you WILL get sick...

DidierInMTL

P.S. This site has alot of good content. I DO plan on coming to visit a friend in Munich next summer. Great site. Keep up the good work.
MarcusBlair
Fried chicken restaurants are very common in London, most of them are KFC imitators, most of them are located in dodgy areas, and have names like Kennedy Fried Chicken or New Texas Fried chicken. KFC has existed in Germany for quite a while. I have seen a few of them in the Netherlands and France. Its not a place I would take my girlfriend to for a date.
Wee Mun
It is still not built, be surprised if it opens in June...

Could be dodgy having this place 5 minutes walk from the office!

Four times since Pakistan allied itself with the U.S. campaign against terror, a KFC outlet here has been attacked. Each time, the owner, Rafiq Rangoonwala, dutifully cleaned up and reopened for business.

I drove past yesterday hoping for chicken, but alas and alack - not yet. It is scheduled to open 26 July!
SleeplessInMunich
Okay, at least we have a date to look forward to now. Is the building finished yet?
Katrina
26th is a Tuesday - TTTuesday there then that week! laugh.gif
Tom17
oooh that can be my celebratory meal (celebrating no more hospital food, I should be out by then smile.gif.
kit
Tom, what kind of shenanigans are you and your wife up to? Didn't she have a broken ankle and now you're in the hospital?! Is this what they mean by tough love? cool.gif
butterbean
they are the ultimate accident prone couple! seems a long way to go to rationalize a bucket of chicken, doesn't it?

no worries Tom, we'll all have a bucket when you get out, and perhaps a bucket when you *finally* go in, then there's the Saturday before you go in, and the Sunday as well, maybe that Friday...wink.gif
Tom17
if only they were open before I go in to hospital... Then I could get a daily KFC delivery service instead of the hospital food.. Is that right blimeygirl? smile.gif

I wonder if they will open early for me...
Iceberg Slim
It seems to be pretty much (but not entirely) finished construction. I did stop and sniff all the doors to see if they were secretly cooking chicken or biscuits (american sort) but that wonderful KFC stench was nowhere about - except my dreams.
UrbanAngel
what a great place to go for my birthday meal... not!
AnthonyDoesEurope
Last year I was in Prague and there were as many KFC's as there were McD's.

I miss KFC for the coleslaw myself.

Looking forward to one in Munich, even though in my family, KFC was allways refered to as "Kentucky Fried Rat" ohmy.gif

Hey, rats are tasty too wink.gif
fletch
not to bring you down but when I was in Prague a couple months ago they did not have Biscuits!!! sad.gif
cindyleigh
No bisquits! That sucks. It's not a complete meal without the buttery bisquits!
