Hope they sell the biscuits and the coleslaw like in the states and not Germanified. It is not Bojangles or Popeyes, but it will have to do.
You can check it out in Augsburg (heh I remember even doing KFC missions to Augsburg all the way from Rosenheim) they have at least one
KFC there. Its the same as in New Zealand except its on plates rather then in cardboard boxes. Coleslaw is the same, hot and spicy and original chicken is the same,Potato and Gravy is the same. There are less different types of burger to choose from though, but more side dishes such as corn on the cob etc, that we dont have in NZ.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, there's been a
KFC near Olympiazentrum for at least the last 5 years.

I know that there is an
American Fried Chicken place just at the junction of the A95

There is no

The ad advertised for Restaurant and Assistent managers plus Shift Managers.
Location - Muenchen.
Can't say I'm excited though. The smell of the greasy fat soming from the extractors always make me want to puke. Each to their own I guess.

Well, the website I listed above doesn't say where the new one will be, but I'd venture to guess that it'll be at Olympiazentrum and that the ad was for the new as yet unopened store.

why Olympiazentrum and not the center of town?

It's about time! I am a southern boy and I miss my fried chicken. I personally would prefer popeyes but
KFC is good too. I think the previous posters were talking about the American Fried Chicken located at Ubahn stop Westpark on the U6. It's not bad but nowhere near the quality of KFC.

Huh? Why all the excitement?
KFC is a corporate fast food shithole only marginally better than McD's. Surely?

Why surely? I think they do some pretty damn good fried chicken, regardless of the ownership or extent of the company.

Haidhausen (west end) and the other is on what was the old Army base and has some other fast food outlet attached to it, but I forget which one. Twas not bad.

KFC. .
I hope they still have crispy strips on the .de menu.. mmmmmm

Never really got into
KFC when I lived at home. I'm quite happy with the Bavarian chicken tbh. But I thought I'd do a public service announcement.

DK, we can still hope. Taco Hell is one of the few fast food joints I miss. Of course Taco Time was slightly better (less grease), but more expensive. One can hope that since it merged with Pizza Hut it will eventually find its way.

You know, I'll bet they expand that Pizza Hut near OlympiaZentrum and add the KFC because I was once travelling(last May) in/near Cologne and there was a
McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC all right next to each other(the
KFC and PH were in the same building).
My(German) boyfriend will be so happy - he loves KFC(chalk that up to spending too much time in the US)

I don't really have anything against KFC.
My favourite is cold KFC chicken from the fridge. mmmmm.
But I love Germany because of all the things here that are different from home. One day, when I've had enough -
KFC and
Starbucks and all the rest will be still be there waiting. I can appreciate those things later. More-so if I've missed them.
I'm happy to not to have the same outlets of everything imaginable in every country you visit (or live in).

Dream all you want, but as lng as the US Military is in Germany you will not have Taco bell out in the German Public... US Mil. has a sweetheart
deal for the next 10 years.. So unless they cloase all their TB's and cancel the contract the soonest you will find a TB is 2015...

I remember stopping at a road-side KFC once (won't say where) and my friend buying one of their Chicken Burgers. It was one of those times when you have been drooling for miles in anticipation of the greasy badness. He grabbed the burger, took a huge bite out of it and then had a strange look on his face. He then looked down at the burger only to discover that he had bitten through a nice ripe boil filled with yellowing pus just below the skin of the chicken. Proceeded to puke involuntarily for about an hour when all that would come out was bile. See you in line at the

Interesting... And gross.
I have heard that story sooo many times, always a 'friend of a friend'. But just figured it was one of those old wives tales that goes around as I also found it in a book of 'common urban myths'.

It's true. Just like when I was at a Wendy's in New York with my brother and he found worms in his salad and when I was at a Pizza Hut and found a finger nail on one of the pizza's. Boils are pretty common in chickens these days because of the steriods they are pumped with and the fact that they are fed their own shit and bloated with water to make their mass heavier for more expensive sales.
Don't get me wrong, I still eat all this fast food crap despite what I have seen and heard. Fast food is hangover food
Believe it or not...

Perhaps it has happened in all those places because it has happened. The world's a rather large place and there are plenty of chickens to go around. Going a bit off topic here but these things do happen in the food industry. Crisp companies have a percentage quota for cockroaches in their crisps because it is just impossible not too. Now that I have thought about it, they have happened to me quite often for some bizzare reason. Even bought a bad batch of MGD cheapo beer in Mass. once that was off and made everyone vomit after the first sip. The stories are endless and needless to say they did and will happen again. To me and to you or someone you know. No way around it if you don't want to lock yourself in your room for the rest of you're life.

I think I've found the location of the planned München KFC...
There is building work ongoing at corner of Hanauerstr & Gneisenaustr, just north of Georg-Brauchle-Ring and just south of the Olympia Einkaufzentrum (and next to Reifern Wagner).
No explicit KFC signs visible at the moment, but "teaser" signs in KFC font, mentioning "iß Hänchen" or similar slogans have recently appeared.
This week is turning into a dietary nightmare for me, firstly an American style diner opens 5 floors below my office, then I discover a future
KFC not more than 300 meters away (and directly on my way to and from the office :-( ). How can I keep up my good intentions at this rate!

Because there's a demand for it. If there was a demand for fish and chips shops here, then they would probably open them here too.
If you don't like it, don't eat there...
