Camera Store in Regensburg or Nurnberg

I need my DSLR sensor cleaned ASAP

The Beaver
My trip back to the states wasn't kind to my camera. After noticing some sensor dust specks, I found a camera store in Indianapolis and bought a package of the sensor swabs. Using these things left some nice streaks on the sensor and I can not get rid of them. I would like to have my sensor professionally cleaned and before Friday if possible. Does anyone know of any camera stores that will do this along the A-3 corridor between Regensburg and Nurnberg? I'd be willing to go to Amberg or even Weiden if necessary.

Not only did I muck up the sensor on the trip, but an airport security wonk in Indy broke the UV filter on my camera also. I always carry my camera on the plane with me and am often asked to take it out of the case and hand it over to the security person at the security check point. They turn it on, look through the lens, make sure it's not a bomb disguised as a camera. Well, this guy fumbled my camera and caught it right as it hit the edge of the table shattering the filter. Very nice. I don't know if it affected the lens at all yet as my pictures are already shit from the dirty sensor.

Any help on getting the sensor cleaned would be much appreciated. I've already looked through numerous websites regarding sensor cleaning and this is my best option. I don't want to damage the thing (if it isn't already).

(crap, posted this in the wrong spot)

Dude if you are heading into PDX I recommend talking to ProPhoto Supply on NWest Marshall. Those guys could give you a recommendation in the local area. Also recommend Blue Moon photo in the St Johns area for a recommendation. Those cats are super friendy and more than likely will do a run down to tell you what you need to do if it is broken and where to go. ProPhoto is just as knowledgable aber have a tendacy to be a little snobbish in "their skills" depending on which guy you talk to. There use to be an art photog there with spiked , really bleached hair that was a great rescource for info and very low key. If you see him wait for him he is worth it.

Good luck dude...bring back Black Butte beer!

Hi Beaver,

Hope you're ski season was good---I ended up tearing my MCL in Colorado . However, I'd be down for going skiing again this winter.

If you haven't already found it, Fotohaus Zacharias near the Pustet Passage in Regensburg offers sensor cleaning for 39,95--I think it's same day.

Yeah but a crappy photo store (no offense). Their main interest seems to be selling cameras and from what I have experienced they do not know what the hell they are saying. So I really would not trust them as a photo store. I recommend talking to someone at Sauter or calumet in Munich and asking for their recommendation. Good luck Beav!!! I might drop into town this month , trying to see what the schedule looks like.

I also bought a sensor duster and the same thing happened - totally scratched the mirror. I ended up having to send the body to Canon for them to replace the mirror. Might be your best bet, sorry.
