Haaretz (reports a Stern story): 'Germany believes Iran could have nuclear bomb within 6 months'

If Iran have almost built one why don't we give them hand and send one over to keep it company - would be a blast!

You have to ask, are Iran just trying to secure the same leverage as North Korea (however without the Chinese backing)?
Should it be proved they have a Nuke I cannot see it resolving diplomatically.

Although not against religion I would not hand highly religious people the keys to a such a weapon. Especially when they seem to like playing power games for their own benefit.

The US, India, Israel and Pakistan (fanatically religious countries) were handed or allowed to develop the keys to nuclear destruction...and they like playing power games for their own benefit!

Ok, but a thing to keep in mind is that India, Israel and Pakistan never signed the Non Proliferation Treaty.
North Korea and Iran did (I think in the early 70s).

Regarding the policy of the US: Who can authorize the use of nukes? The president alone or does it have to be some sort of committee, like two or three members of the cabinet plus the president?

You seem (as I also mentioned north Korea) to think that the other countries you mentioned are like nouth Korea - utter crap - the US a fanatically religious country? I so remember the last time they declared a religious crusade type thing.

Isn't religion banned in US schools? Sounds very different from Iran - I don't see the connection between the two and the potential danger of them both having Nukes.
I feel much safer with the US and Israel having them than I do with Iran and North Korea.

The US hasn't actually threatened anyone recently with Nukes - or did I miss that? Power games are one thing, power games based on the fact that your have a nuke is slightly different wouldn't you say?
