Glad they still haven't changed those shite posters - to me they always said 'Look, we don't pay to use Munich's excellent mass transit system, and so with the money that we have saved we could afford a nice holiday somewhere warm - my friend even paid for her tongue to be pierced'. Reading this poster again today I was informed that thie activity is a Straftat. My not clean mind reads this as a Straptat. Images of being whipped by a leather strapped policewoman come easily to mind.

I rather like the ad for job training with the SWM. It shows two guys on bicycles in front of a blue sky with light clouds and the SWM logo, and for all the world it looks like the guy in front just farted them out. His buddy in the background is enjoying the smell. It's not quite the same as on their homepage, but you get the idea.

I do a double-take, as I recognize tongue-girl and the Bahn-ettes on the cover of that box.

Evidently she is not simply some hip Munich youngster who conscientiously pays her transportation fees. She's a stock photo from some clip-art CD.

There's this sort of white-trash/chav (whatever speaks to you) guy sitting outside of his run-down, rusty trailer. The slogan is basically (roughly translated) "One time caught without a ticket, you never get over it"

Most German advertising seems lame to me and to other expats I know. But it is created by Germans for Germans so apparently they understand the German mentality. On the other hand, some American adverts are so melodramtic that when I was back in the States visiting, it felt like viewing a 30 second mini-soap. The only Schwarzfahren ad that has ever gotten my attention was the one that says "Wo fängt Ehrlichkeit eigentlich an?" Where does honesty start? But I had pms that day and was a bit sensitive, so that shouldn't speak for much
