Starting a business offshore - Germany

I am thinking about starting an internet company with a few friends, developing software etc. I live in Munich now, but I will probably be living in another country in a few years, and somewhere else again after that. I would like some sort of 'portable' company that we could run together as a team, no matter which countries we are living in.

Assuming the company makes a profit, we would obviously pay income taxes from the dividends we distribute, to the countries we are residing in.

So, would setting up a company offshore make any sense? It seems to me that running a gmbh from say, Australia might be a little tricky.
