400 Years of Astronomy - celebrations in 2009

Greeting to the Toytown folks.

This year 2009, as some may know, it is the 400yrs of Astronomy. International Year of Astronomy (Wikipedia)

I have found some interesting link http://365daysofastronomy.org/ but I would like to get more off-internet contact with the subject.

I am living in Ulm (Baden-Württemberg, Germany) and I am wondering if I can get in contact with anyone or group (in English) who is interested in promoting this event.
Ideally in the visinity.

For example, regarding the 400yrs of Astronomy.
1. Increase scientific awareness about Astronomy.
2. Promote widespread access to new knowledge and observing experiences.
3. Support and improve informal science education about Astronomy.

I would appreciate the support of the community here in getting me on the right track.
