Predicting the weather in Berchtesgaden

Will my Alpine vacation next week get rained out?

Geldar
So I've planned a trip for next week to Berchtesgaden. Was hoping to get some hiking in with the husband and baby, but the weather forecast for this weekend and next week looks horrible : Berchtesgaden Forecast. One of the pictures for today's forecast had hail (?) in the pictures, or just really really big raindrops!
Has anybody been out there this week? Is it just afternoon thunderstorms or raining all the time?
We were planning on doing hikes for just a couple hours, with the baby in the carrier, so we're not planning on going far or doing any serious hikes, and wanted to spend some time outdoors in town. Just wondering if it will be a waste of time and money to go down there. Any responses greatly appreciated. Thanks! Hoping for no rain next week...

another forecast:

to be honest, though, the same website was forecasting way more rain for the last few days than actually happened. What i think they are trying to get at is that there is a risk of isolated showers building up over the day. I don't think the week will be as rainy as the forecast seems to make out.

If it's just afternoon/isolated showers, then that's okay. We can get an early start and then hang out in town or in the hotel in the afternoons. I guess there's always a chance of showers in the summer, so we'll keep our fingers crossed. Thanks for the info.

Went up Eagles nest and Großglockner last weekend - Eagles Nest was completely misty and the clouds were at 2400 at GG - so bit of a disaster in view terms - still a great experience... Just go and enjoy what you can!

The forecast for next week doesn't look great, but this can quickly change. If you're not planning major hikes then it should be simple enough slotting your walks into the dry periods. Keep an eye on the Alpenverein forecast for the most accurate information. Salzburg is down the road if it becomes a washout.

In any event, the Alps have a certain je ne sais quoi in the mist that they don't have in the hot, smoggy sunshine. Just dress accordingly and it'll be fine.
