What you see on your way to work

Share pictures of your city

Every now and then I realize how privliged I am to have a spectaculary beautiful, refreshing and interesting bike route to work. Most of it is through parks or residential areas and there are famous buildings and landmarks on the way, not to mention the English Garden with its views, meadows and streams.

This is my favorite picture, the waterfall at the southern end of the English Garden, close to the Japanese Teahouse that Munich received from Sapporo in 1972 when both cities hosted the Olympic Games.

No, I'm being absolutely serious. The Schlosspark we live just down the street from is really quite impressive.

I just couldn't resist throwing in the junky garden link because just a bit before I posted to this thread, some jokers on another thread were telling me a) I should either move somewhere in Germany with nicer scenery and/or b) my daily personal observations over the past half decade were invalid because I was "full of pish" or some other indecipherable britishism.

Well since the S-bahn is a little too fast to capture this picture (suprisingly). When I have to work in Dachau you get to see Nymphenburg right before Obermenzing:)

Well, Expaticus - it will be hard to find you saying ANYTHING nice about Germany and the Germans. One exception: your wife - she surely is a saint.

I cycle part of my journey through fragrant fields of strawberries, a golf course and meadows of flowers.

Alighting at Hallbergmoos, I cycle along a path littered with snails that seem to sleep in one field and then go back to the bushes during the day, darned if I understand it.

On the way to work, or to the bar, or to the video store...

I live in Berlin by the way.

Part of my morning walk to the train station, if I don't take the bus, is along the Sumida River.
