You all know we won't hear the end of this for at LEAST a month... you seen how vehement CNN has been about not talking about anything but the Iran election...

WELL GUESS WHAT

This is BIGGER...

Unfortunately.

Unfortunately.
Even before MJ died, the entire world protesting and shouting in unison was not going to change the mind of I'madinnerjacket (or Ayatollah Khamenei)

The best tribute ever to Michael Jackson was Johnny Depp's rendition of Willy Wonka.

I thought Prince was WAY cooler (and a far better musician).
IS way cooler - Prince isn't dead yet. The only thing Michael Jackson and Prince have in common, IMHO, is that they both hail from the Midwest.

Sadly true. What happened to CNN anyway, I remember my dad watching it when I was a kid, now I watch it and it's such a shoddy, unprofessional shambles! Taking quotes off facebook, that i-Report show... that backstory show which is just self-indulgent,,,

He did make some excellent music. But I was sadder when Pavarotti died.

I haven't kept up with this whole thread but I guess I have mixed feelings about the guy. He was the same age as me, so it's sad his life is already over. The clip above (copied from another site I check in the US) might already be in this discussion, but it does show him at the top of his game. Hard to believe that performer became the creepy pedophile/wierdo/plastic surgery nightmare he was in his later years. I do feel so sorry for those three children of his. I am sure in his own twisted way he loved them; but their lives must be very strange and sad. I'm glad I'm not in the US right now to be around all the media craze I am sure is happening. I am trying to avoid being obsessed with the hype but I guess I "fell off the wagon". I never owned a MJ album and I probably never will. Enough said from me. I'm sure it's no grand revelation...

Hooding, waterboarding ...the Americans have it all down to a tee, don't they?

You have to give it to the guy he had guts – imagine he had let that baby slip out of arms and awful he would have felt afterwards!!

Cardiac arrest! I was expecting a more spectacular exit from him - like run over by a steamroller or falling into a wood chipper machine. I feel disappointed.

It's still hard to believe that he died at such a young age. Michael Jackson left his mark on the music world. I am sure that he helped to pave the road for many musicians. As far as his personal life is concerned, no one really knows the entire truth. He probably experienced some traumatic childhood problems/issues, emotional, mental and physical problems that affected his adult life. As with many stars, they get hooked on either alchohol or drugs. One of these two substances probably affected his personal life and his ability to make sound decisions. All of these issues, along with the financial difficulties, probably were too much for him to handle. Also, I don't condone anything that he may or may not have done with small children, but I do know that all of us make mistakes in our lives. Anyway, I don't know if there is an after-life, but if there is, I hope that he is at peace there.

looks like there is a new album already scheduled for release and over 100 recorded songs that have never been released. Amazon has MJ at every position in the top 12 of his chart. I daresay we will hear a lot more of MJ even if he is gone. Second day and the front page of every paper is still MJ.
