Next weekend from Friday, June 26 through Sunday the 28th, is the Trier "altstadtfest" ! The fest will be taking place in the "innenstadt" area with many diverse forms of music and entertainment, on different stages throughout the city, for everyones taste. Last year more than 100,000 people visited Trier for the weekend.

So, if you are new to the area, this is your chance to see the germans doing (if you know what I mean ) ... "what they do best"!!

I would not recommend driving your car into the city as it will be packed and a traffic jam is guaranteed. Try parking on the edge of the city and take a bus. The Messe Park in south Trier is one option.

If you dont like crowds...this is not the weekend to visit Trier, Germany's oldest city...
