Starting three days ago, anyone else?

Hi

Starting about three days ago I have been experiencing extremely slow internet speed with the o2 surfstick in Berlin. It now takes me around 15 mins to download a 3mb file.
Is anyone else experiencing this? My hardware seems fine. Can't imagine what it could be except for an o2 problem.

Assuming you have a "flatrate" service, maybe you hit the 5Gb monthly limit and they've reduced your speed to GPRS rates as per your contract?

I am having the same problem since I started using it, 10 days ago, reason why I can't wait for tomorrow when I'll bring this piece of junk back to the store and cancel my contract.
I still didn't reach the 5 Giga limit, and even if I did I still should have a normal speed ...I have from 0 to 20...30... what the heck is this!?
Boy , I am so pissed, I am about to explode...maybe moving to Germany wasn't the best idea, everything it's hard to get compare to other european countries, I am sick and tired of this.

Did you call the hotline? I haven't used O2 stick myself but with Vodafone there have been 3G problems across certain districts and sometimes 3G has been totally down. It is still a fairly new service for all providers and is subject to technical problems. It also depends on who else is using the network.

I've noticed the speed has been intermittantly shitty the past few days and my blackberry has had internet problems as well, and it isn't on an o2 network.

I have an 02 surf stick and yes, I have been experiencing the same problems for the last few days. Good to know that it's not just me but annoyed about 02.

Yep, had the same problem too, both before and after my new billing cycle, so nothing to do with download limit. Takes forever to sign on to network as GPRS and then requires a lot of encouragement to flip to UMTS/HSDPA

EDIT: Actually, I first noticed this after receiving a message through the SMS inbox of the Mobile Partner software. The message said it was from O2team, and the it simply said "eschenke sicherheit!" (sic)

Anyone else get that ?

Perhaps it was some abstract reference to the updated Surfstick software - I'm downloading that now to see if it will make any difference.

Anyone else having problems with logging on with Surfstick this evening? Has been sticking at the authentication stage for about the past two hours, logging on very briefly, then dropping out, or having no data flow in UMTS mode only?

Have only just managed to get it to work

If people ARE having similar problems then they almost certainly can't see your post, let alone reply.
Vodafone Websessions seems to be working fine south of Dublin, by the way.... SlĂ inte!

OK, I'll rephrase it for the pedants

Has anyone else had problems with their O2 Surfstick access this evening?

There's a good bit of internet troubles happening this evening, though O2 is not (yet?) mentioned...

thanks for that, it's a handy website

perhaps it's just O2's local POP having problems

(or thousands of people changing their Hotmail passwords has overwhelmed the system!)

Hi

I just bought the O2 prepaid surfstick and put the L package in...monthly flatrate of 25 euros. It is barely working at all.

The prepaid stick worked fine the first day in town. I was happily surfing from various spots in Munich. Now it hardly works for more than five minutes. Then it simply stops working. I'm using internet at the hotel now to write this.

I turned on the surfstick again, logged in and did a speedtest before it crapped out again. It crapped out immediately after. The speedtest site is www.speedtest.net . The speed of downloads is 1.03 mb/s and uploads is 0.12 mb/s. The server is in Nuremberg.

I did a speedtest then for M3connect which the hotel uses. It is slightly better with 1.66 mb/s download and 0.62 mb/s upload. But I'm not paying for this...it's free w-lan. So why is O2 asking for money for something that is not as good as free w-lan and why am I paying for this!! I'm in Garching at the mo but it wouldn't work in Munich center either for more than five minutes. Any ideas what this might be?

thanks coillte

I'm going mad too cause of this shit!

I'm using the usb 02 stick from the 8 of october...the first days was slow but at least ok, but since yesterday it as become completely unusable

At the first time I tought that was a problem of the 5gb limit... but I used just 1.5!

I can't believe it, was more powerful the connection that I had in the '95... damn ******* ***!

I don't know what to do about this cause I'm in a rented flat and I can't get any type of new contracts, someone can give us some help about this?
