just checked. 20-30 centimetres new snow today...
just about 2 meters in the mountain

in march and under 2000 metres...

So I now have DW + Eric in the car with a big question mark next to Canuck, he hasn't contacted me yet. We'll be meeting somewhere up the U6 in
Schwabing. ..

So, now have DW, Eric and BostonSportsFan in the car and we're meeting at universitat at 6:45 Sunday morning... Which resort did we settle on? As far as I can see it's a place called Ellmau - presume that's
this place?
Canuck still hasn't been in touch. I can take one more at a push.
Jeeves
Mar 12 2005, 9:25 am
Yes that is the Ellmau. However I believe the best lift to park at is the one at Scheffau, which you get to before Ellmau. Probably best to check by mobile tomorrow.

Just wanted to say that I had an amazing time yesterday! The weather was beautiful and, save for some slush at the bottom, the snow was pretty good too! I was absolutely blown away by the views. Of course, the best part was the laughs with all the muppets!

Thanks to all who drove and organized the trip.

I was just going to post the same thing. Best day's skiing for a long while. Good snow, beautiful weather, great visibility, amazing views, good laughs.
Even the slush at the bottom was a challenge - all part of exploring the longer and more remote runs. I even feel full of energy today, and that's after driving back in that bad traffic.

Excellent time yesterday. Hopefully will get one more ski trip in before the end of the season.
Things to remember for next time..suncream & goggles!! My face is stinging like buggary.

Yeup, cheers to Gideon and JB for their teaching efforts -- a great day in the mountains! So much sun... like 3 Lions, my face could be mistaken for an oversized tomato this morning.

Mar 14 2005, 9:25 am
that traffic wasn't bad. there again we had beer and coffee flowing in the volvo
just want to add my thanks for a great day.
is that a firm dick?
and what about the deaf chinese man? way to many laughs yesterday. i'm now going to check my face in the mirror to see if i look like a nuclear test candidate too.
where are the piccies?
Jeeves
Mar 14 2005, 9:30 am
My piccies are in camera. Camera is still in jacket. Jacket is lying in middle of floor...
Edit: have to agree that the traffic has been known to be much worse. It still took almost two hours to get back though. Good thing I had Scotsman to chat to, it made it seem more like half that.

I didn't even notice the journey home, too busy chilling out with a nice, cold beer and buzzing over a fab day's skiing
Thank you SO MUCH to Gids, for being a Nazi and dragging me out of bed when I missed my U-Bahn. You are the Ski God, this muppet is not worthy!
So how are the muckies this morning? I hopped into bed on my heated massage mat, plugged in Indiana Jones and a nice glass of wine. Feel FAB now!

EDIT: BSF that simply ROCKS. Gids, that HAS to be the logo for next year's ski hats!
Jeeves
Mar 14 2005, 10:04 am
JB: my tactics were very similar. Take away the massage mat and replace Indiana Jones by James Bond

and you have it in one. Sorting of gear, uploading of pics, eating, things like that will take place tonight at the earliest.

Yeah, gotta add that I had a great time yesterday as well. Athough the place wasn't great for boarding it was defo the company that made the day.
Muppet of the day = me...for getting decked by the gate at the ski lift, landing on it with one foot in the binding meaning I couldn't move ...(with Andy in the meantime nearly wetting himself laughing at me! ) and having to wait till the gate opened again to be dropped to the ground as a final insult!
If only we had a video!
Thanks guys and untill the next time!

Ps. jb...I'll try to work on my english...especially the whole left an right concept!!

Shame I missed Scotsman's demise but it was funny enough in the telling. Even the third time round
And as for DW going aerial, that was just awesome. All those jumps in the middle of the piste
Inspired artwork BSF. The likeness is amazing.

believe me, I'm going to wear a nappy next time I ski with you lot! What with that guy going head first into a pile of snow, you getting lost, crashing and rolling, DW yelling "BUMP!" at flat ground, and 3 lions sqeaking down that last run (whilst attempting it backwards), I nearly died laughing.
And then there were the spastic deaf men, and the sleeping Japanese skiier... crikey, what a day!
Just a shame we don't have web cams, I'd like to see 3 lions this morning. He was glowing last night, and the line across his forehead was cool...
Jeeves
Mar 14 2005, 10:20 am
3 L (alias Pole Muppet) was just amazing coming down the last run. Clearly knackered, swearing at every turn (whether successful or not) he provided great entertainment. But after each wipeout he just brushed the snow off, collected his skis and poles, laughed and said "What did I do wrong?"

@ ETH you should have called Gids the night before and arranged a pick-up.. works a treat
so, who's organising the next trip for me?!

I'm thinking Ischgl or Stanton, partying off the end of the season in style. Will have to be the 9th and 10th April for me (or 3rd for a day trip is OK too), otherwise I'm out of the country...
or if no-one can organise it, we could always join the
munich ski club, they're going to Club Habitat at Kirchberg which would be good for a giggle if the snow is still ok...
