I currently use the Muffathalle website and muenchenticket.de, but reading this board it appears that not all of the concerts are listed on these two sites. So which other sites do you use and recommend?

I use http://www.mtv.de but again, doesn't show everything

I normally use in-muenchen link.
Dingus
Pollstar for major acts.
cb4ach
I would always recommend
http://www.visions.de/konzerte/

Best site for all bands (including the ones that are NEVER played on Munich radio), and you can also do a search for concerts in other cities too.

probably a FFAQ, but hey, cut the newbie some slack and link me, please.

I know this amazing new thing called google, but all I get there is gospel and yodeling.

I'd like to know where the not-so-famous noisebluesrawk-bands play when they hit the city. And where the punks go with their dogs and Sangria flasks, to catch those really obscure bands out on tour? Or the local names, for that matter.

I'm not a total underground phreak though - I see The MTV Award Winning White Stripes play at Zenith on the 23rd - how's the place? Will I be out of luck trying to get tickets, like, a week before? Must see.

The Jesus likes you, oh kindly replying person.

I personally don't like Zenith, as it's a fairly small place with no air ventilation. This caused me to faint during a concert (fortunately narrowly missed hitting my head on the metal bar behind me). OK, so I got to go backstage, but I wasn't exactly fully conscious to enjoy the experience of walking past Twiggy Ramirez. I saw A Perfect Circle and the Deftones. The sound quality wasn't great either, but I usually blame that on the good old technicians wink.gif
However, if a band is playing there that you really like, then it's not like you're not gonna go smile.gif I wouldn't go back there on a whim though.

I find this site very good for checking out concert dates: Pop Frontal.

The annoyance is that I find concert listings on the In Muenchen or Visions site that aren't listed on the Pop Frontal site, and vice versa, so it seems like there is no one site that really catches them all...

Try http://www.musix.de/ and http://www.eventim.de/

When I want the tickets for The White Stripes, where do I go? Street address, no website stuff, I don't have a credit card and I was born in 1865, right before the introduction of online shopping.

Thanks, people.
Topsy
hey, jesus, just go to see the nice men there in the untergeschoss at marienplatz, they'll sort you out with tickets to see the white stripes smile.gif

Pick up the Monatskalendar every month. Pretty much everything that's going on in Munich for the month is listed in there. They are small yellow books that you can get at almost any kiosk.
Editor Bob
...or look at the TT concert listings page.
catdog
ah... that would seem like a wise thing to do.

much appreciated.

There are events every day ... LOADS of them. Try the following (under "Concerts" and "Klassik"):

http://www.in-muenchen.de/

Or there's a Veranstaltungskalendar book available at bookshops, petrol stations etc. every month. It's pretty good.

The events listing section on last.fm is pretty good. Here's the list for Munich - they have lists for plenty of other cities too.

They also provide RSS feeds for events coming up at specific venues.

If you have an account there you can tell it which concerts you've been to before, and it will recommend upcoming events that you might like - also available as an RSS feed so you don't have to keep logging in.

Bump from the dead

Anyone have advice on VKK (I guess preordering)?

I'm a cheap bastard and I see a show I want to go to and the VKK price is 17 yoyo. But if I go to Munchen Ticket the price is 20 euro, where as the price at the door is just 21 euro. So is it pretty normal that if you buy in advance the ticket is cheaper but this price difference is usually eaten up by whoever is selling the ticket? I'd be willing to pick up the tickets in person but seems like the price is still 20 euro. So I understand buying beforehand if it's likely the show will be sold out but I don't think this will happen with this show.

The event I want to see
TicketsOnline Page
muenchenticket.de nur noch zur Abholung EUR 20,04

edit and the Muenchen ticket offices are at Marienplatz or as google maps is saying one thing but their website doesn't seem to list retail locations

Ah hah found http://www.muenchenticket.de/framed.jsp?ta...kstellen/mt.php my German or trial and error skills are improving.

So if I want to save one euro best bet is to pickup tickets in person. But there is really no way to pay the VKK price of 17? (Buying for 2 so saving 4 euro means a beer each smile.gif )
