People,
I am planning a night out this Friday, starting at Bondi's around 21:00 to get a couple of drinks. Until so far the plan is to go to the Atomic Cafe afterwards, but if it's nice at Bondi's we can stay there. It would be nice if we're there with a bunch of TT'ers!
Just to make it clear, it is a night out for everybody, not a lads night or a regular thing or something.
Who wants to join?

I am with you, but I was thinking of starting a little earlier than nine. Who wants to meet me at CADU at say 3pm??? No, really, might as well start early...

It struck me earlier on that most Fridays I tend to go out on the beer - the locations change, and so do the people that I do it with (go out on the beer I mean, not 'it'). What I do know is that I go out with English speaking people, and so figured that I might as well make this an open invite every Friday for people to join me if they so wish.
This is a little less formal than anything else, and I propose just to basically, at some point in the week post a thread saying where I intend to start, and where I think I'll finish with a time, and any interested parties please feel free to turn up and join in. The venues will vary, hopefully, quite a bit...
This week I shall be mostly drinking and dancing like a t**t in Bondi (karaoke will is also on the cards for Wednesday by the way), starting at 8pm, and then moving onto Atomic Cafe for some continued messiness there.
When I say all are welcome, I do mean ALL. Some weeks I'll make more of an effort than others to organise something properly. I do not intend for this to conflict, for example, with the ladies' night out - when that's on I figured this could become a boys' night that meets the girls later...
So there we go - hopefully see a few of you at Bondi on Friday night.
JV
One thing you'll learn with time here Jimbo is that at the wknd, no-one goes out till 10pm, so take advantage of this to go home after work, eat, nap, shower and change and go out at bit later. That way your also not wasted when everyone else turns up and you can party with the rest of us till 6am gone!

but this Friday the plan is to start at 3pm already...?
Jimbo
Nov 24 2003, 3:39 pm
I will be going out for beer on Friday afternoon with anybody who is free.
And what you will learn Bex, is that on a Friday I can keep on going all night long, irrespective of when I started...
we'll have to have a competition then eh...go out one night when Im not working and see whos the last one standing...
after my effort friday saturday you'd better get practicing
Sorry, Jimbo I was just meaning that if you turn up at 8pm your likely to be dissapointed as it wont be that busy, but it does pick up around 9pm and Im sure as soon as the word gets out that your in Bondi everyone will wanna come

That's actually not a bad idea...maybe you could plan a beer drinking contest on one of your Big Nights Out.
Jimbo
Nov 24 2003, 4:00 pm
How childish...a beer drinking contest. I ask you. And yes, Bondi will be quiet at 8, but it means I get a table, and then kick back and wait for the action to start. And OK then Bex, a last man standing contest...will have to think of some other disciplines other than just drinking - I have a few ideas, but perhaps I better put those in a PM...

beer drinking contest/last man standing contest...pretty much the same in my opinion...

I'll be there for a couple of ales. Wouldn't mind heading off to a club fairly early on though, it that's what people want to do.

Like I said, Atomic Cafe in on the menu this week for some indie type stuff, and yeah, won't be hanging about in Bondi after 10:30 or so I should think...just see how it goes. I prefer a more freestyle night out...

i'm with you on that one jimbo, the less time in bondi the better. freestyle it and leave the place early.

Good man. Well, how about CADU? Good place to sit and drink, and not bad for eating cheaply either. And as with most of Munich they have some very attractive bar staff...

Good man. I'm thinking that next week (so first week of December), since I will have been paid, we might try a few smart bars, and perhaps get over to Funky Kitchen early doors and give that a go, so keep that in mind peeps...

Right folks, one last reminder - 8pm onwards in Bondi for a few bevvies, and then onward into town, perhaps a brief sojourn at
Kilians and then I think the Atomic Cafe - feel free to join me anytime, anyplace - those who want my Handy number PM me, and it is yours!
Hopefully see some of you folk tomorrow,

It was the original plan, and I don't think the plans have changed...are you going to the CADU as well Karen?
Jimbo
Nov 27 2003, 3:37 pm
Yep, gonna be at CADU to meet Don Riina for 5 - anyone wanna go earlier, let me know and I'll see what I can do, but nobody seemed up for 3pm...you bunch of wimps...

Well, actually I've thought about going to the CADU. But I need to know if there'll be someone else. Why? Do you wanna present me your brother?

Mmh, had a bad week and don't wanna be disapointed anymore, therefor please don't bring anybody. It's challenging enough to deal with Don Rino and Jimbo.

Challenging? I'm deeply hurt - I'm a joy to be with!
Well, I will be OK at 5 before the beer starts reacting with my boisterous gene anyway..

Nov 28 2003, 12:54 pm
Right, as a guide to the whereabouts of Jimbo's big afternoon, evening and night out:
3pm - Gonna grab a late lunch and a couple of bevvies with Magoo in CADU (Cafe an der Uni)
5pm - Don Riina arrives to add that multi-faceted appeal that he does so well (me in a suit, Don Riina in a hoody normally - both slagging off the Germans and Man Yoo mind (no offence to the Germans)
8-9pm Arrive in Bondi, totally wrecked
10-11pm Leave Bondi and head over to Atomic Cafe with one or two potential stops on the way for refreshment.
That's basically it - we have early 20's thru to mid 30's ish coming along, so don't be afraid to come out even if you are just a little be too old for this sort of thing anymore. The majority of punters will be showing up in Bondi around 9 I should imagine.
N.B. As stated above, I will be trashed - been a bugger of a week and so I'm gonna take it out on my liver.

Sounds like an excellent plan. Looking at the weather it looks like the best thing to do here in Munich today...

Nov 28 2003, 1:18 pm
Yep, I have not had to see a client for ages, so no suit for me. Woohoo! I shall indeed be in a hat n hood, with my nice new headphones destroying my eardrums, and moaning about Manyoo no doubt. Bloody great. Still aiming for 5, but waiting until my boss opens his office door so I can go in and resign. That may or may not effect my arrival time, but I should be getting there in pretty high spirits.

I'm going to the Ice-hockey tonight with Pootle (and anyone else who decides to go. I'll be at the Bondi afterwards though - a mate of mine (non TT) is having a few drinks there before he goes to Australia for a while. If you're still there, I might see you lot.

Nov 28 2003, 6:56 pm
Bondi is here
http://www.allofmunich.com/bars/archive/000482.htmlHere's a map -
Basically, go to
Karlsplatz, take the Sonnenstrasse exit.
It's next to the Burger King.
SparkaHck
Nov 28 2003, 7:15 pm
Oh, yeah Atomic Cafe is Neuturmstrasse 5, near Marienplatz
You can look up bars here
ttp://www.toytowngermany.com/
...and then get a map from here
http://www.hot-maps.de/Just enter Ort=Muenchen, and Straße und ggf. Hausnr=Neuturmstrasse 5
Give a man a twinkie, and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to steal twinkies and
he'll eat forever.

The hangovers are actually not bad...as far as I know we drank a shitload of beer and cocktails, but there were just a few people who got really pissed.
It was a great night! For the people that weren't there, we had a gazillion of camera's around...

Nov 30 2003, 12:35 pm
The night didn't work out as anticipated to be honest - were still stood in Bondi at 12:30, but eventually made it over to the Atomic Cafe, discovered a one in one out policy, popped into an American bar nearby, then all back over to Bondi, so all in all a little too much walking, and not enough drinking, but having been out on the sauce for 13 hours it probably wasn't such a bad thing...
All in all I think most people had a giggle - will no doubt be out again next Friday so I'll post details later in the week, once I recover from a 12 hour session in Murphys yesterday...

Should probably also say thanks to eveybody that made the effort to come out in the snow and the wind and the rain etc. on Friday night - was very surprised to see so many people there - nigh on 20 at it's peak.
I really do hope we can get people out on a regular basis for a drink or two on Friday nights - it was very congenial indeed to spend the night with such a bunch of chipper chaps and chapettes

Maybe it was not Jimbo's Night Out, but I think I should mention that Saturday was a blast as well! Not as many people, but I had a great time hanging around at Gunther Murphy's on the couch in the far corner. It was also the first time for me to see that the area around the well turned into a dance floor after a while...
