Plane Girl
not looking to eat at the arc as we will be there all night, looking for a resturant to sit down, quietly before hand
CodeRed
do not go to Pappasitos on Tuesdays. It's not gonna be quiet (but you get two free cocktails as a girl)
Trig
I know a couple of nice places. Ones called the Twisted Bavaria and the other is just around the corner from Universitat u-bahn station. Its an italian place. Think its mainly pizzas but am sure they do other stuff too. It always looks to be fairly busy in there though. If u want me to find its name and the street name i will be passing it tonight.

edit: And if the place am talking about is called Pappasitos then am gonna look a little stupid unsure.gif
Squirrel
if you like good curries Deeba is good, on Barerstrasse or Treznewskis (for more cafe/bar type food)
Elfenstar
there are lots of places on or around schellingstr. some greater than others. some examples: brik, sausalitos, cafe puck, news cafe, altschwabing cafe... the arc is a hop, skip & a jump away.

Plane Girl

butterbean
how many people? there's Il Molino (Italian) on the corner of Tengstrasse and, hmm, Adalbert I think. About a block from the non-TB exit from the Ubahn. Bodega Dali (Spanish) is also right on Tengstrasse, but not as big.
Plane Girl
@butterbean, Im think maybe 10-15... have u eaten there then? Thats close to where Im looking!
butterbean
yep, I live a block away, so many times. The pasta and fish dishes are quite good (imo. they had a salmon dish this summer to die for). If you want wine, order the specials at the bottom of the day menu - the regular house stuff, particularly the red, isn't that great. Or stick to beer. It's fairly big and they can sometimes accomodate without a reservation, but I would call to reserve - the service tends to be better when you do.

Bodega Dali is good but read the TT reviews, I think someone got charged extra for having a few less people show up than originally reserved...
Plane Girl
super that sounds good! do u know do they speak english.. im sure u've heard my german and its poor!
butterbean
hmm. actually, I don't think the waiters do much (though they all speak Italian). but I don't speak German either, and have muddled through ordering just fine. Never tried to make a reservation though. don't know til you try... I'm sure you can swing it!
Keydeck
Pappasito's has now moved to the goYellow tower at Landsbergerstr 110 just beside Donnersbergerbrücke. The official opening was last Friday, April 18th.

Beer is €3.80 for a 04.L Tegernseer Helles. The place is a smoke free between 18:00 and 22:30 and a smoking club thereafter. Monday to Thursday they open until 1am and on the weekend "bis Partyende".

See pappasitos.de for more information.

Anybody visiting this restaurant, which is engaged in false advertising, will hopefully do what we did WED night: Walk out and find another eatery.

Getting admission with their silly smoker passports is a hassle beyond imagination.

I have proof that their website does not hint any restrictions on their daily specials. Well indeed their menu at the restaurant has some footnotes making the daily specials not valid, e.g. on days prior to public holidays.

The ultimate death sentence how I judge this bar/restaurant however:
They claim to be some kind of Mexican/Tex-Mex bar.
Well the only Tequila they serve is that god awful Sierra (the one with the plastic sombrero), useful only for cleaning your dirty shoes.

Stay away from this place folks, it’s a rip-off engaged in doubtful business practices.
