Nip/Tuck is a very successful TV Drama series from the US.

It's set in a south Florida plastic surgery center and centers around the two doctors who own it. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) has family problems and is always trying to patch up relations with his wife Julia (Joely Richardson). Sex-craved Christian Troy (Julian McMahon), on the other hand, uses his "charm" to bring in potential female candidates and conducts shady business deals, often for the love of money. Sean takes his job more seriously and often has to fix Christian's mistakes.

The show was first aired in the US in July 2003.

In January 2005 it was awarded a Golden Globe Award for best TV Drama series.

The second series is currently showing on Tuesdays at 9.15pm on Pro Sieben. The series will also start on Premiere from Tuesday 1st March (7.15/8.15pm, Premiere 1/Premiere 2).

Seeing as most of the clientele at Munich's P1 nightclub are cosmetic surgery patients, Premiere are inviting everyone to a special Nip/Tuck party there this Friday (25.Feb.2005). I don't suppose any readers here are interested, but if you are then you should contact dirk.heerdegen (at) premiere (dot) de (089 99586350) for details.

Owain Glyndwr
in the last episode the docs re-created a clitoris out of a toe!

(the show runs on Sky in English, so i don't have to be subjected to hearing known actors with funny voices)

So... has anybody seen the third or fourth seasons of this show? What'd you think? I have Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, but haven't yet tracked down Season 3 - I know the Region 1 release was in August 2006.

I admit to having read through the Wikipedia episode guide for Nip/ Tuck, so I know what basically happens. I read online that a lot of long-time fans of the show (like me, who started watching the show from the US pilot episode but had to discontinue when I moved abroad) thought the third season sucked.

Julian McMahon is just as hot as ever, though. I'd watch him read the phonebook. Although the fact he's had sex with Shannen Doherty makes my stomach turn.

Season 3 went wrong, season 4 is more like season 1 & 2, at least what I've seen of it is and season 5 looks to be even better. Christian just goes the way you always thought he would - big style.
Shannen? He actually married Dannii Minogue. Isn't that worse?
georgiagirl
Well he also has a kid with Brooke Burns, an American actress who - while very pretty - is best-known for diving into the shallow end of a pool and breaking her neck. So possibly not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I haven't heard much about Season 4, although I thought about skipping Season 3 altogether since I already know what happens and many of the plotlines just sounded ludicrous.

I am watching season 4 right now..it is much better than season 3. Overall the series has gotten much better since the first season. The characters are so insane that it sometimes hurts to watch.
We actually spent 10 hours in front of the TV this Sunday watching nothing but Nip Tuck...I had to catch up..

That Michelle character just irks me. The series is also walking a fine line with Scientology..it will be interesting to see what final direction they take that in.

Do you have any idea, off the top of your head, what seasons I can get on DVD in Munich? Thanks.

Is this the kind of show that you have to watch in order from beginning to end?

I've never watched it as I kind of took issue with the premise but I've seen some of the commercials for it on sky lately and it seems that the psychology aspect could be quite interesting.

I've been told I'm not allowed to watch the new episodes until I've seen everything in order but is it really necessary?

Jules, you can get Seasons 1 and 2. I bought both at the Müller on Tal. Season 3 has not been released here yet AFAIK, but I am sure you can download it - this is probably how Saint got ahold of it.

ER, you can sit down and start watching it at any point, but I think you'll definitely have a better appreciation if you start from season 1. There's lots of backstory.

GG, I'll always think of you everytime I see slightly stressed buttons on a man's chest now! laugh.gif Definately need to watch this show sometime.

Jules, I know someone who has them..I will PM you the details wink.gif As far as the first season goes, I bought it at Saturn in Munich.

@bern
I was quite enthusiastic about that particular scene, wasn't I? You know, I looked for a clip of it on YouTube to send to you and Keydeck, but couldn't track one down unfortunately. Although I do have a stockpile of pics of Julian McMahon in various stages of undress if you're interested in that sort of thing ph34r.gif

Edit: this marks my 1000th post on TT. Go GG.

Is this the kind of show that you have to watch in order from beginning to end?

I saw the 2nd and 3rd seasons, and then got ahold of the 1st, so watched them in the wrong order. It is not so crucial that you see the 1st season first. A lot of character development happened in the 1st season, but its not like Lost or something, where it would be difficult to follow the ongoing plotline.

I found the 2nd season quite boring. The 3rd season was definitely OTT, but more interesting than the 2nd, I thought.
Saint
ER, next time I am in Munich (or if you come to Paris) we can watch some of it..you can also go by my flat in Munich and pick up the first season DVDs if you want smile.gif
Mr. Fixit
anyone got any decent ed2k / torrents on these? I want to share imaginary friends with Saint rolleyes.gif
Owain Glyndwr
yup.
Darkknight
Me Too.. Got all seasons/Episodes...

PS: Season 4 is over, and NT is on season break before S5 starts in Fall 2007
Mr. Fixit
Would any one of you be so kind to provide me with ed2k links or working torrents then? given a choice I'd prefer ed2k i guess, usually more reliable with less popular files.
I'd be most gracious either way. cool.gif
Owain Glyndwr
this site has season 4

http://eztvefnet.org/

just search for nip tuck and all season (and only season 4) will appear.
Mr. Fixit
Thanks, found torrents for all four seasons on mininova.org already, however if anyone got some ed2k on them i would still prefer those. (technical reasons)
Darkknight
Tons of Torrent and ED2K links out there, but good luck finding ones that actually work, arn't fake, and are of good quality..
Mr. Fixit
Those from mininova are actually pretty healthy (and DVD-rips), still will take approx. a week to get. Sadly, no ed2k yet sad.gif
Darkknight
HEHEHE, I usualy get TV Episodes 24-48 after they air in the US.. Remember, The Anti-Piracy groups are watching you everytime you use P2P/Torrent.
Search the board, there are better and safer alternatives..

I believe one should be pretty safe with stuff that you cannot buy here and thats been aired anyway.

I pulled a muscle in my back this weekend so finally got around to watching this. I have the first 4 seasons on DVD and managed to get through the first two and I really like it! In fact, I didn't get to bed until 3:00 this morning because I just had to finish the second season. I don't particularly like any of the characters (and the kid Matt looks disturbingly like a post-plastic surgery Michael Jackson) but the various neurosis/psychosis they explore are really interesting.

Is it just me or does Julian MacDonald look a lot like a young John Ritter?
Eleanor Rigby
I'm making my way through season 3 and I have to agree with you guys, it's awful. The characters have no consistency and completely change personalities from one show to the next. They say one thing in one episode and contradict themselves in the next. Very disappointing.
