German language courses in Rostock

It might seem weird that I'm looking for opportunities to learn German since I'm right here in Germany, but unfortunately that's how it is. My everyday need for German involves talking to a check-out chick or the occasional order in a restaurant. I know upper-intermediate German grammar but I can't actually use it in a conversation. My attempts at conversation are pretty pathetic. Any tips out there?
Also, other than the Volkshochschule are there any other courses in Rostock?

The university language centre offers courses in German as a foreign language, and they accept non-students so long as there's free places (information, ironically, only appears to be available in German).
