Hello,
I have a problem with a Bosch washing machine. Any suggestions on who could fix this type of problem?
Thank you!

...also, my tumble dryer started emitting a horrible smell like the motor is burning up.
Any recommendations for a Munich repair service who could sort this? Preferably English-speaking?

My Hoover washing machine is also not working properly at the moment. Any updates on repair services?

You can reach the Hoover service line on 01805 / 625562. I've no doubt that a local technician may be able to do it too, but in my experience the local chaps charge less per hour and take twice as long, then need to order parts from the manufacturer which delays the repair. If you call Hoover directly you get a man-who-not-only-can, normally on the spot, as he has all the parts in the van, but also a guarantee on the repair. My expensive, but elderly Miele dishwasher needs a de-coke every 18-24 months. Typical cost is €200 for the Miele man to do it. Last time I tried a local chap who charged €170 but needed 2 visits and left the machine in pieces for a week while he got the parts...

If it turns out to be irrepairable, refer to:

Have you gone thru all the regular procedures of emptying the filter and checking if the machine is standing on its hoses? My apologies if you already have. I always call out the manufacturers - sorry, don't know anyone cheaper. But beware of paying expensive repair bills, new machines are cheap these days! Good luck!

Have you tried looking at a shop that just sells home appliances? They would probably be able to order you the part you're looking for. Or you could perhaps ask at a bigger place like
Karstadt or MediaMarkt if they can oder it for you, but they might not do it. But at least they'd be able to tell you who could.

My machine is broken I think, it is not draining out the water, and I have pulled and drained the pipes. Does anyone know any cheap repair men?

I hear about broken washing machines. Are there any particular brands to avoid ? All of theese are quite pricey and despite that seem to break down

I posted in a thread last year about our washing machine but I cannot find it.
The seal between the drum and the frame is split and I had temporarily bodged it with silicone sealer. However, as expected, it has re-sprung the leak so would like to replace the seal now.
In it, someone (Grinner?) said they know someone (in the UK?) who may be able to order me the new seal. Anyone?

If you know the make then most (all?) of the major brands have a "Kundendienst" you can phone and they will arrange a visit. Before phoning them you'll need to find the serial number (often on the door). Which make is it?

If by any chance you're just looking for a spare part there is a place at , DOMAGKSTRASSE 33, 80807 MÜNCHEN, from Siemens I think, but they sell spare parts for various makes of domestic appliances, including dish washers.

Its a Zanussi IT 566. Im pretty sure its the water pump thats supposed to pump water out of the maschine at then end of the cycle that not functioning correctly. Im not sure how hard that would be to change myself, provided I was able to pick up the spare part.
Thanks for all the info guys much aprreciated...

It is possibly just a blocked waste pipe...
The small plastic discs from the tops of some milk containers are the right size for the pipe, and can cause the blokage..
Maybe there is a shite in knineing Knight in shining armour who could help you!
If you do call out a reputable company, they may insist that the do a full service ...
Beware!

I've had that pipe blocked also with a coin... Careful draining the machine by hand you can end up with a lot of water on the floor. Most will have a pipe to drain the water by hand, then look for the drainage pipe filter (normally somewhere lower than the level of the drum & it should have access) for clear it and try again.

Right, my washing machine has gone bung.
It's a Bosch Maxx and oooooh 7 years old, I guess. The motor runs but the drum isn't turning. The drum turns when moved by hand, so I suspect (like I have any idea about such items!) that the belt is buggered. There are no leaks or blockages (water ran through normally).
Obviously as a technical incompetent, I'll have to get someone in to fix it, any recommendations for central Munich?

Reithofer in
Euroindustrie Park. They are great. Although I don't know if they are cheap.

IF it's a belt (as it sounds) then it's an easy self-repair. Whip the back off and confirm the diagnosis, then order the part (
here for example) and fit it yourself or with the help of a handy friend.

Guess will be putting an ad in for a handy friend then ha ha
Cheers for the tips, I disconnected it this morning and will have a look tonight, posting again when I know more. Thanks again.

You can often prove the belt theory by looking under the machine for mangled bits of belt which may have fallen out when it self-destructed. Don't forget to disconnect from mains power and don't tip it too far in case there's loose water slopping about.
