Child-friendly cafes in and around Hamburg

Recommendations for mums and babies/toddlers

kiwi-german
Hi there,

Just enquiring as to any recommendations or advice as to where (and or how to find) child friendly cafes. By this I mean a cafe in which there is ample space in which to lay a rug for tummy time and in time, toys to entertain a toddler. A cafe which specifically caters for both Mummy's and tiny tots would be grand or at best a cafe in which 'sitting' on a milchkaffee is tolerated for 1/2 an hour or so ....

While HH is entering Summer .... in the days that it might rain ... does anyone know if the cinema's have a "Mums+Bubs" session? Generally a daytime chick flick in which you can bring your buggy into the theatre, feed and entertain the littlies as required with other like-minded and understanding patrons.

Thanks heaps
Susan

Hi,

Try out the Atisch cafe on Barbeker Strasse, Winterhude. After 12 (afternoons) they have a play corner for small children and plenty of coffee and cake for the mums. We practically lived here when my son was small http://www.atisha-hamburg.de/

They also have other events in the evenings and is a proper cafe but in the afternoons the little ones rule the roost.

I can also recommend the food hall in Karstadt or Alsterhaus where they have a small play area for kids.

Here is another link for you:
