Hi guys and gals,

I'm going to the Totentanz night at Feierwerk for the first time. Going with a crowd of maybe 5-8 ppl depending..

Website

Saturday 19th February
Start 10pm
Price 5 euros

Feierwerk e.V.
Hansastr. 39 - 41
81373 München

Zu Fuß fünf Minuten von der U4/U5 Heimeranplatz

Music style - New Wave, Batcave, Minimal, Neo Folk, 80ies, Electro, EBM, Gothic, Darkwave, Industrial

Don't ask me about the nuances between batcave and neo folk ... no clue wtf it is!
Another thing I found out is that 'Independant' music over here isn't Blue, Oasis etc but goth...

Anyways let me know, dunno when/where meeting up yet.

A-ha (no not the band!)!

I don't know what I'm doing that night yet, but if I'm not doing anything then I'll surely come along!
UrbanAngel

Yes. This place is quite lively too. I was in there yesterday.
UrbanAngel
@32D Is it a weekly event then?
32D
I dont think its a weekly event... But next week they are inviting special troops.(If I understood the German posters right) Yesterday, different groups were playing music and it was very good. The music, the ppl, the drinks and the ambience. Interestingly(!) unlike the Kuntz park, many english speakers I could meet.

Since you'll be in the area, why not stop by at Stragula (Ridlerstraße & Bergmannstraße) and say hi? I'll be the guy behind the bar. You'll want to come after 11pm. We have a poetry slam from 8-11 or so.

I'm the guy with the long hair and skirt behind the bar.

woof.
UrbanAngel
Hi,
I've not decided owt, was I meant to? wink.gif
It's still on AFAIK, Kebab Meister may come but isn't sure if he's doing something else, and will let me know.

All are welcome!

Meeting at 11pm at Feierwerk at the entrance.

*yawns* morning!
Well, Totentanz makes for a fun evening out. The music was mixed; some 80s and industrial stuff (the usual like Enjoy the Silence, You Spin me Round, Closer, Personal Jesus etc) Siouxsie, also played Wolfsheim, VNV Nation etc. That was towards the beginning of the night but after maybe 1am (possibly) they switched to cyber/techno goth so we left around 2.30-3am cos they didn't switch back to anything good wink.gif
Oh, there were 2 DJs, and at quite a few points there were gaps between the songs or they started a song, stopped after 10 seconds and played another, then re-started it afterwards... wasn't too good for the atmosphere smile.gif
Drinks were cheap and they cleverly had a Pfand on each bottle or glass, so you had to bring it back empty yourself.
The venue was cool - reminded me of a school disco when we walked in with that painted black concrete floor, but it was big (for Munich) and had plenty of corners to hide around.
The dancefloor was divided by a net curtain, and there were seats around the outside.
Warning for girls - no toilet paper, so take your own tissues wink.gif
The whole placce had a very raw feeling, the crowd was much more diverse than Nerodom/Pulverturm, with Robert Smith lookalikes, punk/goth types with floppy Mohicans, new-romantic goths, clubbing goths with welding glasses and long braided purple hair.. hehe
Anyway, was fun and I'd recommend it.
It's on every month, I think the next is 12.03.05.
Kebab Meister
Glad to hear that you had a good time! smile.gif
UrbanAngel
And how was the date? wink.gif
UrbanAngel
Ok, I just got round to tidying up a bit and read some of the flyers thrust into my hand at the club last night.
Kafe Kult looks like a cafe, check out the photos on the site, weird! It's actually walkable from my house too smile.gif
Club night - The Death Porn Show Strikes Back is a club i think - death rock, batcave, goth rock, horror punk, postpunk, trash.
