Concert: Bloody Nora - Munich

Somehow, BLOODY NORA won 'The Judge's Choice' and have been asked to play the Emergenza Semifinals, 20:00-23:30 Saturday 25th April at Backstage Halle, Friedenheimerbrücke 7, München, along with ADAMSAPPLE, ALTBEWAEHRTES, BLACK PUDDING, DESIRE FOR LIBERTY, MIND YOUR HEAD, ONE COLD NIGHT, RELATIC, and SCARLET FALL. 9€ - 9bands.

There were some cool-sounding band names at the previous Emergenza thingy, but this lot sound pretty weird. "Black Pudding"? Blummin' 'eck. And I know "Bloody Nora" is kind of a Cockney thing, but for some reason it makes me think of Nora Batty. Eee, 'appen ah'll bring some Eccles cakes along. Could chuck 'em at the less talented bands ter mek 'em shurrup, if nowt else.

No, come to think of it, if all these bands are in the same class as Bloody Nora, they should be well worth a listen. 9€ for 9 bands - that's just 1€ per band - great value for money. I even give street musicians more than that if they're good.

It's the second round so the thrash bands and Nirvana wannabees should have been weeded out.
Worth going just to listen to Bloody N alone though.

Oh and I feel the Nora Batty thing too.
(And perhaps I shouldn't abbreviate it to Bloody N, it looks too much like Boney M.)

Those photos remind me of back in the sixties, when Top Of The Pops was in black-and-white, and bands made good music with just a couple of guitars and a drumkit, with no fancy electronic geekery.
