GAA football and hurling club in Frankfurt

Irish sports, newly formed, players sought

macone
Hi

A friend of mine is forming a new GAA club in Frankfurt - for the uninitiated thats the traditional Irish sports of gaelic football and hurling. The idea is to put teams together to "compete" in tournaments in various European cities over the coming months. Anyone interested in getting more details should send a mail to frankfurtgaaclub@googlemail.com. Obviously there is a social element attached with the travel to away fixtures for weekends etc. No experience is really necessary as there will be regular training sessions to help newcomers with the rules and technique of the game, ehhhh at least for the football. For hurling some previous games would be recommended.

So if you fancy a work out followed by "craic agus ceol" then send a mail to the above

Cheers

...by the was this is by no means restricted to Irish participants, anyone is welcome...if you have played basketball or rugby you will probably also enjoy gaelic footy

We had a team setup in Frankfurt a few years ago, think it was in 2002 or 2003. I've lost contact with all the lads and have forgotten most of their names. Fergal and Derek (can't remember their surnames) were heavily involved in it and O'Reillys bar at the hauptbahnhof sponsored us. All the paperwork was done and submitted to GAA HQ in Dublin. So before you go to all that trouble it may be worth your while contacting HQ about it.

Hi All, still looking for newbies? Would the girls join you for a spot of hurling or do you actually play camogie?

Also, where would be best to watch the Dublin-Kerry match this Monday from Croker? Waxy's and Bornheim are showing it, which one would you recommend?

Cheers!
