U2 announced the tour dates for their 2009 tour, christened 360°.

The dates for Europe include Berlin, but sadly not Munich.

The show revolves around a new 360 stage that features a wraparound big screen. A demo can be viewed at U2's homepage.

Long-time U2 Director Willie Williams has worked again with architect Mark Fisher (ZooTV, PopMart, Elevation and Vertigo) to create an innovated 360° design which affords an unobstructed view for the audience. U2 360° also marks the first time a band has toured in stadiums with such a unique and original structure.
Dates that the tickets go on sale for the public can be found here.

I will almost certainly go to Berlin to see the show, if I can get tickets, that is.

Milan is also an option. Its not much of a difference than travelling to Berlin or Gelsenkirchen.

Aparantly the dates released today is not the final full list (eg. Dublin has 3 concerts planned but only 1 "announced").
Maybe Munich is pencilled in too on the sly. We can only wait and hope.
Eck Spatz
I will wait and hope. Otherwise I'll have to consider travelling to Berlin or Milan.

Where are you getting Gelsenkirchen from?

Stay in Munich - there's a rumour that Onob may show up here: Open-Air Gig
It's a rumour, mind you. But the Irish stick together.

I bet you have his mobile number. I suppose he was second choice after Lejeune...

Ah, gotcha. The first little purply list didn't include every date.

Here is the complete European list from the U2 website. (Click it to enlarge.)

I wonder why they have put "Wal" in the "state" column for Cardiff, not "Sco" for Glasgow or "Eng" for London and Sheffield.

Going to try and get tickets for NY

According to u2tour.de, Gelsenkirchen has been removed from the list.

UPDATE 13.30 Uhr: zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt hat U2.com das Konzert in Gelsenkirchen wieder aus der Liste gestrichen. Wir warten auf neue Informationen!
So that means only Berlin gets a gig - nothing in southern Germany, Austria or Switzerland. This is sickening! It seems they're playing way less gigs in Europe than previous tours. Plenty in the US though.

Yep, it's been removed from the official list on U2.com as well.

From the Irish Independent:

We plan to tour this summer. We start off in Europe for two months and then we go to America for two months and we come back in 2010 and start in America and finish off in Europe. We are going to do it over two years and we're hoping to work on some more music in between.
And the great news for U2 fans is that the group will tour again next year, promoting their album 'Songs of Ascent', scheduled for release in 2010. They will hit the US and Canada in June and arrive in Europe for a two-month stint in August 2010, before heading for South America.

Worry not folks! I think that their may be a few more German dates on the second leg of the European tour which will follow next year!

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/exclus...003948418.story

The basic layout of the tour is Europe in July and August, America in September and October with a total of 40-45 shows this year; more stadiums in America in June and July next year, then August and September in Europe. The trek then tentatively will hit South America in the fall of 2010, for potentially as many as 90-100 shows over the next two years.
