Ok, with all this snow that should be arriving, has anyone got any recommendations for where I can go and get a few days snowboard tuition?

I'm intrested in a complete package, including lessons/equipment hire/life passes.

Any thoughts?

http://www.fieberbrunn.at/ No idea what the boarding instruction is like, but they have the best ski teacher in the world (probably). Its not my favourite place for skiiing, but the instruction is good.

My report on Neustift:

Quality of runs: Very good

Tuition: Good (By the end of the first day I was turning all the way down the begginers slope on my board). On the third day of my tuition I was doing really well, since I was the only person there on that day I went off piest with my instructor into deep powder, then we went onto a red run, which is where I tore the ligaments in my left foot. A bit of a problem that as I'm sure you can imagine. My adivice is not to push yourself until you are sure you know what you are doing, take your time.

Restaurants: Good (Two huge restaurants there).

Location: OK (About a 30 min bus ride to the resort from Neustift and then a 20 min ride to the top).

Nightlife: In Neustift it was pretty good, a few clubs etc, only when we were there no-one else was. One bar is an English bar, I had the shock of my life when I walked in and 150 British squaddies turned around to look at me hop in. Aparently they are there for the winter, so Ladies BEWARE! Unless you like that sort of thing... laugh.gif

Hope that helps a bit...

I am a skier and wish to learn snowboarding this season.

Can anyone recommend me a good instructor/school?

Preferably in English and better if it is a whole weekend lesson.

See their trip to Reit im Winkl next weekend, I think they still may have some spaces open. English lessons for all levels are going to be available on that trip...

Thanks. I know about that smile.gif
for more info, they still have 3 places left. So, anybody else interested can still join.

Check out the DAV here. You need to be a member but they run courses in everything to do with mountains and they are good.

FYI - I was skiing at the weekend and above 2000m the snow is OK, below that it's a bit patchy, and below 1600m brown, wet and heavy. Best wait for new snow before starting lessons.
