Surely you could just use an internet bookies?

www.bluesq.com or something like that is the one I very infrequently use.

I think I've seen a bookie shop between Marienplatz and the Hofbräuhaus. It's on Sparkassestr, if I remember correctly. If not, it's then one street east. Never been in, looks scary.

There's a bookies on Leopoldstrasse, in between that Ferrai restaurant where they show all the F1 on the corner on Georgenstrass and that poncey bar.

take your pick. list of bookies on left hand side will have free bets initially just to SUCK you in...

failing that i'll take your money...especially if you want to bet on australia..no tax just this once..as a fellow tt.

most of the legal bookies in munich are purely for horses/trotting..

you can only bet on the football for example at many illegal seedy joints run by albanian/russian/turkish mafia..on the plus side they offer substantially better odds than the legal ODDSET bayerische mafia..who's odds are so skinny it is painful..

the illegal seedy joints though tend to be closed down for days after blitzkrieg style razzia's (raids) ..only to re-open a week or so later when the heat is off from the old bill..they have a certain atmosphere about them..ie very dodgy..but they do pay which at the end of the day is all that matters..

happy punting punter.

what are the big brand names over there?

how are there odds?
what are the bet limits?
are there any betting taxes?

Off course betting is much more restricted than in the UK, look for the Springer chain, their central Munich branch is listed above.
About six months ago in Bavaria there was a massive crackdown on betting shops and mayn were closed down.

The state is claiming a monopoly on betting that the private companies are trying to break.

Im moving to Munich next year and was wondering if anyone knows if there are any bookies in Munch. My partner is from Munich but has never gambled before so has no idea if its even allowed.
I enjoy the odd bet on football horses of whatever takes my fancy. If anyone can help would be most gratefull.
