Hey all,

Anybody know of an ice hockey beer league in Hamburg who might need a strapping Canadian defenceman?

Any information is greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Bill

Me too. I'd love to lace on the skates for a bit of pick-up hockey, not the full-body contact stuff though. I've heard they play in the Farmsen arena.

Yeah but only on Wed. evenings!?!? I can offer In-line hockey (I cant play for sh** but I can kill a bear one handed)

I'd go for inline. Don't you need special skates for that, though, the kind with the tiny wheels?

BTW MLD, have you ever seriously checked out the Farmsen arena for what they offer?

i know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy that might be able to help... i'll send out a message

and Dude, I can kill a bear NO handed!

Justforfun In-line hockey all skates will do unless you want to use your speed skates silty, could be hard turning once you grab the puck/ball

@tor:I know a guy that knows a guy that can fart a bear into a coma, no hands.

I am not sure if a bear would die from the manly funk of my hockey bag or want to hump it... either way, I'd have time to run away, screaming like a little girl.

Thanks for the info. I am in for inline as well. I am assuming there are extra style points awarded for showing up in Linda Ronstadt disco boogie roller-skates, right?

Give me a week to get the previously discussed equipment bag in town, and I am up for anything.

for professional ice-hockey I`ll recommend the HSV. Go on hsv-eishockey.de and you`ll find all you need. Have fun!

Hi,

Just moved over here to HH from Helsinki / Finland and would like to continue my for fun ice-hockey playing 1 - 2 a week. Would not prefer to play any league as I have done that and it 'ain't my cup of tea' anymore.

Looked through the HSV and Crocodiles ice-hockey websites but am not sure if that would be the thing - although I am 42 Yo and would qualify for old-timers...

In Helsinki used to play before work (07.00 - 08.00) twice a week. Would there be any teams out there practising during the odd times? Please let me know.

Thanks!

Hey, I'm English, new in Hamburg and would love to find a just-for-fun team to play in a couple' times a week.. does anyone have any advice for getting started? I used to skate inline Very, and I can ice skate pretty well… aways figured hockey skates would be easier to skate on than rental crap we get at ice rinks in england.

I'm only 23, so age/etc shouldn't be a problem - i'm currently living in the St. Georg area but will be moving soon (in a couple of months) - tried googling, but my german is still too bad

Just to bounce the idea, would anyone be interested in meeting say once a month for some inline hockey?
I used to play with a couple of other folks in the IKEA parking lot in Schnelsen (Northern edge of Hamburg).

We could start a Toytown 4 fun team you know with jerseys and chicks

I have just wasted an hour searching for an icehockey rink offering icetime but no joy.

If anyone is bored on Sunday we could play! I'm sure someone will be there and we could join in the fray.

Just say the word, MLD. I'd love to play some street hockey again, with or without the skates.

Or the mascot...

How does this Sunday sound? Weather permitting.

I'd also really like to play some ice hockey. inline not so much (tend to fall on my face trying to stop sideways on those things), but might consider it if there's nothing else.

if it's relevant, I'm a "chick", but have played with men before and can more than keep up. You won't find me standing around in my undies and Leafs jersey touching my privates though. For one thing the Leafs suck.

go Habs.
